After his release within 2 or 3 months we got dozens of counter for him just like akainu but when it fr shanks era just how many counters we had ? Now we've gotten oni nami , alber , g5 ( as I mentioned above now he also get countered the most ) oni brook and now yamace. Seriously they have trait to remove any buff state I mean why ??
Players problem tbh they wanted bandai to make counters for fr shanks and bandai did (not saying it is wrong tho) but ye it was actually unnecessary to give that traits to upcoming units as Zoro is the only one that truly counters fr shanks cz he can't be knockbacked when he is red so shanks won't get atk buff and Zoro get resist stagger too so besically he can spam m1s against fr Shanks and kill him eventually so giving that trait to other was useless (as it also made some other buff state units useless against units that can remove state) And I don't think g5, hybrid kaido,Oni nami even needed that remove buff state cz g5 is green so he isn't even focused on countering shanks due to same element but still banda gave him that trait and Oni nami is squishy so shanks can easily catch her off-guard and two shot her but ye still it is kinda hard Now for kaido same reason as g5 but another thing is shanks can two shot him too (i mean kaido can one shot shanks too just like g5) So besically giving that trait to Zoro and Olin was needed but I don't know why they decided to give that trait to others too as the units can still get one/twoshot by fr shanks (btw I'm not saying that fr shanks kills g5 or his counters easily)
