Liam Brady. What a player and I’m honoured to say a friend.
No second thoughts of not celebrating his goal with the West Ham faithful against his boyhood club. A true footballing legend admired throughout the world.
Cottee always missed a lot of chances, but also scored a lot.
Don't know how old Brady was then but he and Bonds were probably the two oldest players out there but the two best.
Brady was 31
My God, how did Cottee not get a hattrick in this match?
One hat-trick, should of got 2! Loved it as well when Brady stuck that 3rd in!
Indeed...for a guy who got two goals, a somewhat wasteful performance!!!
Liam Brady penalty taker, a brace, cottee always a wanker
To be fair, Tony Cottee was a good goalscorer, but not a great goalscorer. The reason he didn't have a good England career, is because he missed just as many chances as he took. He was great at peeling off defenders and getting in the right place at the right time, but sadly, like I said, it was always 50/50 whether or not he would score. He was good, but not a Shearer or Van Nistelrooy.
Cottee was always a 50/50 centre forward. He missed as often as he scored. He had a good scoring record, but nothing special, thus didn't have a good England career. Good player though. Legend.
Bonzo was just mustard and Brady was too.
Look at that... oh look at that. Brady’s goal was reminiscent of the one he got at shite hart lane in the famous 0-5 Arsenal win, except that it went in the bottom corner instead of the top one, and that referee was a total pedantic clown.
Enjoyed that one too..
Does anybody know what was wrong with that penalty?
Keeper moved too soon
Nah, players in the area when the kick was taken. Have a look at the number 7 for West Ham. He was practically next to the penalty taker when he struck it, and so was in the perfect position to clear the rebound.
Bonzo say no more
The days when 9 foot coppers would stand behind the goal and completely block the view.
Don't remember McQueen at left back...
some of these dudes aren't even in shape and look 40
