Sean has the very rare ability to explain quite clearly the how of a particular process but more importantly the why of it. Well done.

"Off. And on. Off. And on." I don't know if ophthalmologists do this in the UK but your intonation and pace saying that reminded me of every US eye doctor I've ever been to. They always say "Better like this? Or this? Better like this? Or this?" when they're checking your vision and trying different sight correction options.
Great info! Thanks for all your hard work and great tips. Kudos.

What I really like about this series is the emphasis on making the person look like the best version of themselves. It's almost about editing out the camera or lighting flaws, and less about the person themselves. Very useful to acknowledge that a photo doesn't always represent the person as they are.

I've looked at and listened to your videos for some time now. I learn a lot from them and a lot has nothing to do with photography. I'm not a professional photographer, not even close. Most of my images are of family and old buildings that are a strong wind away from falling down. I may crop a picture but that is about it. To me the veins in her eyes were imperfections that were perfect. It's just me. I may take hundreds of photos just to get one that is what I actually see. I'm in my seventies and I've seen so much that is not real and that may be why I am the way I am.

I really enjoy your editing videos, seems I'm always learning something. For what it's worth, I use Affinity Photo but what you demonstrate easily translates and I am so much happier and facile with editing that it is almost a pleasure. I don't do portraits, but I look forward to trying the color dodge technique. Now, where is that picture of the Grand Canyon...Keep them coming and thanks!

FYI, your website is not working properly for me on Firefox. The issue seems to be the youtube video running in the background of your splash page has a higher priority than the "enter" button. So clicking that button pauses/unpauses the video.

Is Alex Kilbee Sean Tucker or is Sean Tucker Sean Kilbee? It's like wow, you both talk and have near identical voices and tone of voice. Same voice coach or a vocal plagiarism as such? Sorry not photography related, but it's just slightly odd hearing Sean Tucker but seeing Alex Kilbee (the photographic eye)! Obviously more than just accent...

Being an amateur photographer I spend my money mostly in photo books: since it it an open source tool, I think it would be useful a Gimp version for this technique.
