The string of the handbreak can freeze in the winter. That's what I was told. But I put the handbrake and neutral on anyway.

You push the clutch when starting the car and it doesn't jump forward.
I actually had to check but apparently leaving car with handbreak when it's freezing temperature can damage it. And I assume snow and ice is not that much of concern in UK so that's why you dont know about it.
idk about that but if you park on a flat surface, you are just using the handbrake for nothing, because if you leave the car in reverse or 1st gear, there is like a small clamp that slots in between gears and hold the car in place, same thing is when you put an automatic car in park

I wish Rob would port much cooler M4 sound from VC as well (as in, separate sound for AK and M4), but that's probably low priority. Could be done easily with EarShot mod btw, though I guess users can tweak that part themselves if needed.

Over here we don't learn/ get tested on stick unless you happen to have one when you get your license, they're not very common here.

@@ChickenKinglolz handbrake is the parking brake, it's what it was designed for damn it
Relying on the park gear to hold your car can be an expensive repair if something goes wrong. Replacing the parking pawl can involve removing the entire transmission for repair. It’s a lot better to use your handbrake as that what it was designed for and it is extremely inexpensive to service
