I'm pretty sure everything Johnny said was bs and meant to get a rise out of Sonny. Sonny wasn't cruel to Claudia until he found out that he was responsible for Michael's shooting. I remember how he treated her after they lost the baby, he was caring, for example he brought her to the carnival with his kids, etc. And Kristina is an idiot for believing Johnny over her father when he says that he doesn't abuse women. He may be overbearing and have a temper, but Sonny has never raised a hand to her or her mother.
