We had enough!!
Got rid of the original recliner sofa and upgrades our Host Yukon Truck Camper with a 64" Charles POWERED sofa from RecPro. The original sofa from Host just didn't hold up after full timing in our truck camper. We searched and didn't find much on how or what to replace it with. So we choose the RecPro Charles 64" Rv Wall Hugger Recliner Sofa in Ultrafabrics Brisa.
We give a very step by step video on how to take apart and remove the original sofa, how to modify the raise floor in the slideout, how to place and bolt down the recliner sofa and what to use to hook up to 12vdc to power new sofa. WE also showed how and what to use to add more protection from the outside elements - bugs on the bottom of the slideouts.
We choose the RecPro Charles because it only needs 22" to go through the door of the truck camper and it had 4 regular sized cup holders with USB connections.
There is a NIGHT and DAY difference between the New and Old Recliner Sofas.
Remember this Mod and Upgrade is for a 2023 Host Yukon Truck Camper.

Wow. Well, I am not hell-bent on buying a bed camper yet, Host is one of the ones I was looking at, and I really liked that recliner option. Thank you for being so straight up about your experience. I hope you get some compensation from Host, and I‘m glad you got some furniture in there that works for you. Thanks again and God bless.
Thanks for watching our channel, we love the RecPro recliners. Host is outfitting new units with the RecPro as an option.
Great video! We have a Host Yukon with the exact same junky recliners. My wife and I are looking to replace with recliner couch that has NO center armrest. so glad I found another Host owner to follow on CZcams.
Appreciate the comment Mike, we have made a lot of “modifications” to our Yukon and made some videos of a few, i would check out our other videos and let me know what you think, also if you have any good ideas please pass them to me. We have a new video posting at 5pm est today with an upgrade i think every truck camper owner should get and we also got our viewers a discount code if they want to purchase the upgrade.
Sounds great. I too watch Joslyn's Journey. They are great. Will you guys be going to the Truck Camper Adventure Rally in Quartzsite this coming February? We went last year and it was great. Tons of info and interaction with folks and their camper mods.@@WeAreForeverDreaming
No not this year, we are down in Florida for the winter. We are flying out to Denver in March to pick up our new F550, Elevation Off Grid is doing a truck build for us. We are leaving Florida at end of March to go to Georgia Mtns for a month of trout fishing then we hit the road to Mid west then up to Montana, cross the border and head up to Alaska (6 month”ish”) trip.
Thanks for posting. I always take critical videos like this with a grain of salt, but your comment definitely reinforces the claims made. Thanks for sharing!
Great video guys! Keep up the good you're doing for the community!
Glad you enjoyed it. Thank you so much for your support!
Doggie comes as if on cue and says,” Feels fine too me!”😂
Really nice job. Thank you for taking the time to share!!
thanks Scott, appreciate you checking it out. leaving tomorrow going to FL.
Great information, we are just starting to look at truck campers . Host seems to have the room we want I’m hoping my truck is capable. I have a 2020 F450 . Safe travels
we have a 2020 f450 also, we pick up our new 2023 f550 in March, with our Yukon, scale weight was right at 17000 lbs, truck right at 10k, camper around 7k, over payload for f450, it rode ok with modifications to truck but i always had concerns about payload so that’s why we are moving up to F550
@@WeAreForeverDreaming
That’s what I was concerned about . Some think the 450 is capable of more than what the sticker says . Maybe a few hundred pounds but when you get in thousands I’m not so sure . Safe travels
safe travels
Great video, thanks for taking the time to share. In the market for a truck camper. Judging by the quality of the Host OEM couch install from the factory, I'd be afraid to see how the rest of the camper is constructed. Nice camper non the less, think personally I'm opting for the Northern Lite 10'2 with no slides. Just subbed and liked, keep up the great work.
thanks, Host is a great camper. no regrets.
@@WeAreForeverDreaming that's good to hear, thanks for the reply and again, keep up the good work, YouTubing isn't easy.
Great job guys!
Thank you for watching!
It looks like Host doesn't skimp on the staples ! 😀
lol, there was a lot. What did you think of the video?
@@WeAreForeverDreaming the sofa looks great ! Enjoyed the video very much !
@richbowie76 👍
Very cool!
Thanks!!
Awesome job! We have a Yukon. We’ve been full-time for 2.5 years. Our recliners look awful! Mostly due to our dogs. We’ll probably replace ours in the future.
Thanks for watching the video. We used blankets to cover the sofa for our dog Kiki. The new sofa has material that’s like leather so hopefully we won’t won’t have to use blankets on it, time will tell. Next video is review/install of The IRVWPC for the water pump, you will wanna check that out for your Yukon. What part of the country on y’all from?
@@WeAreForeverDreaming We started out in the Dallas area. We love full-timing. We can't imagine returning to sticks and bricks at this point in our lives. Can't wait to retire and take our Host to Alaska!
@kimberlyhanson965 we are going to Alaska in next May.
@@WeAreForeverDreaming I'm so envious! Where did you start out?
@kimberlyhanson965 we have a cabin in the river in Helen Ga. We are in SC right now going to Fl for the winter next week.
Great video. Thank you
thanks for checking out our channel!?
Thanks for posting!
thanks for watching. What did you think of the video? any suggestions on what you would like to see?
@@WeAreForeverDreaming I would like to see more adventure videos of the great places you visit and where you live in florida.
ok sounds good. we are traveling from Ga to SC to see family tomorrow then back to Ga to Stay at Kings Bay Naval base (Submarine base). We are planning on doing a video on the Military Rv park and campground. Then we are going to FL. We will being doing lots is videos on our Adventures there.
Really appreciate you watching and your support.
I just purchased a new Host Yukon, the recliners that are in it look like the new ones you just installed. How are they holding up so far? Good luck with your channel, we tried doing a channel 5 years ago, but it never really took off.
the Recpro set we installed is hands down the better set. Thanks for watching, youtube is definitely a time consuming endeavor. Again thanks for the support.
Great idea on wiring but use a heavier that 14 gauge…..use minimum of 12 gauge ….ten even better safety wise.
i was having hard time finding anything heavier, especially for dc current, however i agree with you but with my calculations the small inverter pulls a small draw, its not under constant use, only when use the power on the chairs to recline and etc
I see why you had to do what you did to adapt to the 120 V dual recliner. The only thing that I don't like is going thru all those connections (plug ins) to get to the final 24 v d.c. actuators that are in the new recliner. I have a 24 volt system in my cargo trailer that I got rid of the plug in at the back of the recliner and replaced it with a 2 wire 30 amp weathertight locking connector. Then I just ran wire from my 24 volt fuse box to the recliner and plugged it in eliminating the 120V to 24V converter that you have plugged in to you 300 watt inverter. If you look at the writing on the converter plug, it will show what d.c. voltage it is dropping the 120V down to (usually 24 to 36 V) that supplies the actuators. I don't have all those plug in connections and the one on the back of recliner is replaced with a locking weathertight one that won't come loose with vibration or jarring. I think Host could easily do a 24V system with a 24V to 12V drop box for all of the 12V accessories. I run fridge/freezer, recliner, and awning actuators all on 24V and other d.c. accessories on 12 v. Happy Travels
ok, good idea thanks and thanks for checking out our channel, safe travels. Danny
No problem. Obviously my trailer is 100% custom of my doing and I don't have a crimp connector anywhere. I'm one of those that solders and shrink wraps every connection. Next time ya have the back off the recliner where you can get to the plug in...unplug it and test to d.c. voltage going into the recliner. The odds are it is putting 25 volts d.c. to the actuators. If you show -25 volts it is because you have the voltmeter leads on backwards and that way you can tell which wire is pos and neg.
Do you have the other couch and high/low table? Are you changing that out also or is that good?
yes we are keeping the other couch and table, we’ve experienced no problems with those. How did you like the video?
@@WeAreForeverDreaming I like your videos very much. I meant to add that. I especially like your direct relaying of the facts. I think I have watched two of your videos and I will probably go back and watch some older ones. Thank you for the content.
@blairmany3454 again thank you for your support!
Can you install a washer/dryer in that same place?
where the recliners are? if so i wouldn’t think so, no plumbing there. However the Yukon model does have option for washer/dryer combo in drivers side slideout.
Can you store anything in between the slides , or is that a tight squeeze? Inside the camper.
