- Wave Rock in Western Australia is a stunning natural phenomenon located in the small town of Hyden - about 4 hour from Perth.
Wave Rock is exactly how it sounds - A massive wave that has been carved into the rock over thousands of years of wind and water erosion.
We spent 2 days hiking around Wave Rock, photographing and flying the drone. Drones are allowed to be flown with care around Wave Rock and the views are spectacular.
There are plenty of other things to do around Wave Rock including hiking out to Hippos Yawn and watching the sunset over magic lake.

This video show two people exploring Wave Rock in Western Australia. Wave Rock is a huge rock that has been carved out to look like a wave that you would see at the beach over thousands of years of wind and water erosion. In this video we film and explore the rock face, fly the drone over the rock to get some amazing drone footage of Wave Rock and the views around the area. We also walk around the rock and climb Hippos Yawn. Hippos Yawn is another rock that has also been carved out by wind and water erosion over thousands of years to look like a hippo yawning.
Finally, our last adventure in this video, we head to Magic Lake which is also located in Hyden, Western Australia, to watch the sunset. Kierran flies the drone over Magic Lake and I use my Canon 70D DSLR camera to take a timelapse of the clouds moving and the sunsetting over Magic Lake.

We missed wave rock as we didnt have enough time. So many things to do when we finally return to that part of the world!!
I know! We nearly did too, but we actually had to kill a couple of extra days in the end, so we thought 'why not?'. Really really cool place to see and explore, but waaay out of the way if you are doing the coastal route
