Please turn off "Stable Volume" in the video playback setting (the first menu item after clicking the gear icon) as for some reason, this new CZcams playback feature made the video much noisier than usual.

Very interesting, they certainly got some heat into those connectors !....cheers.

Thanks for this overview. Nicely done! Looking forward to the review and experiments. Do you have the url for the open source hadware design of the SAA2N?

Nice tear down. My nano van won’t measure frequencies above 140Mhz (faulty). If I were to reflow components, what would you recommend? I’ve seen videos suggesting that a different part of the circuit does above 140Mhz.

I wonder if they'll be making a new version of the NanoVNA that goes up to 7GHz or more. Just a little more than 6GHz but covering the new 6G Wifi band would be good futureproofing.

It looks like they used the original SAA2 main board and just bolted on two SMA to N adapters. This offers no real advantage over the SMA version, I'd rather buy the original and have the choice to adapt. The "factory calibration" you refer to is mostly useless. You will need to calibrate the ports anyway to move the measurement plane from the port connectors to the end of your cables and thus to your DUT ports. Otherwise you'll measure your cables together with the DUT, this is almost never what you want.

I was a bit disappointed at the bolted-on adapters as well.

You can buy the SAA2 with SMA already so this version is an option for people who actually use it a lot. SMA will not hold up as well as N in the long term (>~500 cycles).
