Tested: Nikon 200-500 f/5.6 vs. 500mm f/4 VR

Which is better? The $8000 Nikon 500mm f/4 AFS G VR or the $1400 200-500mm f/5.6E AFS VR Nikkor? This may not sound like a fair comparison, but let's face it, at the low price point of the 200-500mm zoom, you kinda want to know how good it really is.
In my backyard lens test, we'll look at the features of these two Nikon telephoto lenses, compare focus performance and then we'll return to the studio to examine image sharpness from my test images.
