It’s the first fly I tied 5 years ago on a 60 year old vice I inherited from my dad when he passed in 1980. I bought your Basic Fly Tying book at local flyshop in Fredericksburg Tx. The next day I used my Olive Wooly to catch my first Largemouth on a fly I made, on dad’s antique custom fiberglass 5wt (Jerry’s Custom Rods, Durango CO.) I also inherited. Now I’m thousands of dollars in, with tying gear and materials, and Lots of flyrods. Guess I (blame) owe it to you, for getting me started. I love this sport! Caught some nice bass last week on the Olive buggers..hard to beat. Thanks for everything you do. It’s much appreciated Mr. C. 👍👍👌🎣

Old guy Wooly fanatic of 42 years aside from literally thousands of trout, I've caught every species in Colorado on them, except the tiger muskie broke off. Buy all my supplies from you since you started 😆

By far my favorite streamer. Tied hundreds if not a thousand in three decades. Gonna go tie a couple in blue right now. Thanks Charlie!

Charlie, i teach a lot of people to tie flies and the first fly i teach is this one. The Wooly worm just cannot fail!
No matter the skill level you can tie a Woolly Worm and almost always have success.
Honestly a selection of WB's in different sizes and colours are almost a sure fire kit for trout fishing. Purple is my favorite color.

Thanks Charlie!! I just started tying and am about 5 buggers deep, while they're slowly getting better... I've struggled with the finish and this helped a lot!! Gonna try and tie another one using this video as reference

You're tying a bugger like I mentioned in the muddler video and I just got materials for muddlers! Try black chenille with tinsel in the thread, blood red tail, silver tinsel topping and grizzly hackle. Also like Platte river streamer colors. Thanks, helps to have really nice materials like yours.

The first fly I learned to tie forty years ago. They didn’t tell me that it could possibly be the best and only fly I needed. But what fun would that be. My first one didn’t look anywhere near that good.

I’m going to try your method of a few turns of the hackle fat part at the eye of the hook now. It seems like the bugger will push more water that way. I still am shy about glue….I get head aches from glue. Your the best Charlie have a great 4th of July.

Maribu is one material I will take the 30 seconds and fill up a bowl with water and use it to help tie in the material.
