1:54 Marlin: Okay, you've got a lot of choice here. You can watch just the movie without the commentary Dory: Oh, oh, oh, i'm so excited. I've always wanna see "The Little Mermaid". Marlin: Good. Well this is a Finding Nemo Dory: Oh well that sounds nice too. Maybe we should watch that one Marlin: We're watching that one! This is "Finding Nemo". Dory: Oh, you should have switched just for me. Marlin: Unbelievable.
2:50 Marlin: Or you don't even have to watch THIS MOVIE. Take the disc out, and i will stop talking. a random kid in 2003: *destroys the souls of screaming fish on the DVD with the hammer and burning them and the DVD up.*
i think i know why the dvd menu is a little unsettling to some people, including me. imagine you're home alone with the lights off at night-time, and you're watching this dvd in your parents' bedroom. you suddenly hear Marlin and Dory speak. you can't find the remote, meaning you have to press the play button on the dvd player itself. eventually, Dory starts singing a little song that says to "just keep watching". you don't know if you should just keep watching the movie or the menu.
to me it was the completely static menus that were unsettling to me in the past, I remember when I was 6 or 7 and on the design galleries menu, all movement, all sound, it's gone, just silence, I felt like Marlin and Dory might stare at me if I waited too long (basically I thought I was going to meet a jumpscare if I stayed on silent menus for too long)
Yes I agree the virtual fish aquariums where very amazing to see I loved every minute of each of them especially the ones set in the fish tank those alone are worth watching they really put your mind at ease as your just seeing the fish swimming around in bubbley water

Add to the fact that the THX logo exists and that it appears on this dvd, go figure.
