  • In this video, young home improvement & DIY'er Aiman will give you his first impression, provide a quick demonstration on how to use, and initial review on Bank 28° Degree Framing Nailer from Harbor Freight Tools. Unfortunately this pneumatic nail gun is only available from HFT, but if you prefer to order from Amazon, the closest alternative would be 3PLUS H2890SP 28 Degree Clipped & Offset Round Head Framing Nailer, which is actually $10 cheaper. Thus far the 3PLUS has 90 positive reviews with almost a 5 star rating. Here's the #ad link:

Other than 3PLUS, Banks 28 degree air gun is one of the most inexpensive and affordable framing nailer on the market, about $89 compared to Bostitch F28WW at $219.00.
Aiman's dad is a fan of cordless power tools, but cordless nailers are expensive. At minimum they are over $200 with the top of the line brands preferred by pros are over $400, some are over $700. But because they already have an air compressor, pneumatic nail gun, which is cheaper, is a better alternative.
As far as first impression goes, this Banks nailer is not too bad and for the price it is actually good, except that when we first used it, it fired 2 shots of nail at the same time similar to the discussion in this forum: www.finehomebuilding.com/foru.... After we installed regulator and after break-in period, the nailer was fine.
Nail guns are designed for one specific purpose: to drive nails into wood (and other materials). This simple power tool replaces the hammer and nails, and it drives nails much faster than its manual counterpart. As it turns out, there are several different types of nail guns, and each one has its own unique use.
    1. Framing nailers are the heaviest duty nailer, and their name is fitting. These nailers are ideal for use on wood framing in heavy construction jobs and building.
    2. Flooring nailers are uniquely designed to make quick work of laying tongue-and-groove floorboards.
    3. Palm nailers are just like mini nail guns. These palm-sized nail guns work in the same way as their full-size counterparts, but on a much smaller scale.
    4. Roofing nailers are also heavy-duty, much like framing nailers. They are typically only used by professional contractors, although serious DIYers may also have one.
    5. Siding nailer is used to install siding. These powerful nailers join thinner pieces of wood or a synthetic material to a wooden mount.
    6. Pin nailers are generally used for finishing in carpentry projects, and they are the smallest, most delicate finish nailers you can buy.
    7. Brad nailers are also used for finishing, but they are compatible with larger nails - 18-gauge.
    8. A finish nailer can also be used for finish carpentry work, and they are designed to be used with specific sized nails.
    9. Staple guns are nothing like any of the other nailers listed above, but can still drive staples (a type of fastener) into a wide range materials.
Additionally, there are three types of nailers - pneumatic (electric-powered air compressor), fuel, and cordless (battery) -each with its own pros and cons. Pneumatic nailers use compressed air, via an air compressor, to create the force that drives the nail out of the gun and into the wood. Fuel-powered rely on a combination of a fuel cell and a rechargeable battery for power. Cordless nailers rely solely on their battery for power, but are usually heavier. A battery-powered nailer, which uses an electric motor to fire nails, will either use a brushed or brushless motor.
Framing angle refers to the position of the nailer’s magazine. The most common angles for framing nailers are 15, 21, 28, 30, and 34 degrees. These are fixed angles and are not adjustable, so keep in mind that you must buy nails that match the angle of the nailer. A 28-degree nail will not work in a 21-degree nailer.
Here are some of the top of line or the best of breed of nailers - Metabo, Hitachi, Freeman, NuMax, Paslode, DeWalt, Makita, Milwaukee, ValuAir, Eapmic, Bostitch, Vevo, Craftsman. BHTop, Kimo, Porter Cable, NeuMaster, Enegitech, Senco, Ryobi, Ridgid, Worx and more....

You forgot to show how it shoots when you hold the guard back and fire at a bird. That’s the first test I always do and I’m a pro.

I just need it to fire 1420 nails into 355 boards. Was thinking about a Paslode or Milwaukee cordless. But pneumatic is cheaper all in all. Plus you don't have to replace CO2 cartridges. Except for Milwaukee which don't require CO2. I have to add It's also called a test fire to set how deep your nails are going to be. A dry fire is when you have no nails in your nailer. Try to avoid that.

Is this video sponsored by the Banks nail gun company? You need to offer a coupon code like the other CZcamsrs peddling products
I don’t understand why people are complaining that you’re talking too much. Don’t they know that you’re giving a tutorial?

    • @EyeOnAiman
      @EyeOnAiman  Před 3 lety +2

Unfortunately this video is NOT sponsored by Banks Nail Company, but it would be nice, wouldn't it? But we do offer honest reviews on the products we bought for the purpose of using them. We've received many emails requesting to do reviews on new products but we will not do reviews on products we don't actually need or use ourselves. By the way "Banks" is a generic or off brand for pneumatic tools made for Harbor Freight Tools (HFT), and if you're looking for HFT coupons here's the link for their website: www.harborfreight.com/savings_coupons.html. Although we don't peddle products directly like other CZcamsrs, we do make a small amount of commissions if viewers click on the links to Amazon products listed in the description or comment section and purchase Amazon's products. It's called Amazon Affiliate or Amazon Associate. You can Google it and find out more...
