The Treasure Coast is located on the southeastern coast of Florida and consists of three counties: Indian River, St. Lucie, and Martin. Vero Beach is in Indian River county, and Fort Pierce is in St. Lucie county.
We stayed in an incredible Airbnb, which was actually the main reason for our stay. The Airbnb is called "The Coconut House" and is just minutes away from downtown Fort Pierce. This place is amazing, but check it out for yourself here: airbnb.com/h/coconuthouse
The best part of this trip was the food. Taco Dive and Old Florida Coffee Roasters are must-stops on any visit to the Treasure Coast!

We stayed along the coast as many people we spoke with said that's where most everything is, and it's more visitor friendly

Yes, definitely. Jan is usually decent weather. Hurricane season ends around the end of Nov.

Bought a place in Fort Pierce and too much crime for us ... wish we had settled in Vero or Port St Lucie. An expensive mistake for us
sorry to hear that. We staying along the coast where it was more laid back. Vero Beach was probably our favorite in the area.
