Great uncomplicated fun garage rock, brought with lots of enthusiasm. They make me smile all the time. Love their debut album. That's what music always should be! Can't wait to go see them at the end of the month in Brussels.

The music is very joyful, it's playful and they are charismatic and look like they're having a lot of fun which makes it likable for me. I don't get all the people complaining about their guitar skills, it's not always about how complex the music is.

I am really shocked about all these mean comments, just can't understand... Met the band yesterday and I'm just in love, found them absolutely fantastic, charismatic and talented. They turned out to be one of my favorite bands rn. Can't stop hearing the album and all of its songs.

Thanks to KEXP for the clean recording, up close camera work, and the crisply captured effervescense that is Hinds.
This new band's music is so freshly unique sounding and especially inspiring, it makes me almost cry. I love their tempo changes. I love their vocal interplay, and I really love their lyrics → big word pictures from so few spoken, yet so much said.

Like spotting a patch of fluorescent glowing mushrooms while taking a midnight walk in the deep, dark, dense and dreary forest of mostly mediocre music.
Great music can still be simple sounding, since it mostly takes great spirit and artistic dedication, each of which Hinds has present in abundance.
I caught them live here in Chicago a couple months ago and, just like Ex Hex band, they also delivered a boatload of energetic stage presence , tightly played songs, and just plain fun for us all.
I can't wait 'till the new full album drops, and the next U.S. tour comes around.

Rock N Roll is about doing what you want not because you went on a singing show and someone told you that you were good, but because you believe in what you do. All Hinds did was make a record that they wanted to hear and see live. They're living the dream. In Rock N Roll, you don't need anyone's affirmation. Hinds knew that there were people in this world that would truly love their music regardless of what anyone told them. I stepped out and said 'Leave Me Alone' is one of my favorite albums of all time, and I don't want to hear "You must not know a lot about music!" Because music is subjective and I love the artists who are bold and fearless. I've already seen this band live once, and I'm looking forward to doing that again when they return to Los Angeles in the future. Stop saying "they suck on guitar, they're mediocre at what they do!" MEDIOCRE AT WHAT THEY DO?! Who the hell are you to judge them? It seems to me that they're having loads of fun and that means theyre doing it right

Uh, no, you forget about doing it right AND having loads of fun. People getting drunk at a party are having loads of fun... that doesn't mean that anybody wants to pay to see them do it. But would some people pay to see pretty girls get drunk at a party? Yes they would: I have answered my question regarding this band.

I love this band, the fun they make and transmit when they play. I have seen them live four times in London and love them to bits. As well as the joy and perfection in their performances they are really cool people..hanging out in the audience when the support band were playing. The tempo changes are definitely something other musicians could learn from...they are really "in tune" with each other.
this is messy and punky and surfy and utterly cool. They are having fun and it's contagious.
great DIY punk rock, no need for perfection. just energy and fun. which they have in abundance . they are young, they will evolve. but i think they are good as is.

I'm sure any musician could play around these girls no problem, I feel like I could, but that doesn't mean they're untalented. People need to appreciate their style and what they're trying to do instead of talking about what they can or can't play on their instruments
I read in a article that hinds doesn't like to be called 'fun girls'. they want their craft to be taken seriously. (: I found out about this band over a month ago & I've fell in love with their music immediately. their personalities, melodies, & energy is so captivating & indie. they're in their own lane, & so fucking talented.

I really love it. I feel a pure joy in their music.
These girls are fantastic! It's such a breath of fresh air compared to the packaged and overly perfect indie stuff that people record because it's easy to do. I think they made something that breaks away from the mundanity of an otherwise overdone genre.
Also I love that they were like yeah we were drinking right before we came on air. Because doing your own thing is what rock n' roll is about.
Also not sure where people are getting the "they don't know how to play" bs from, they know exactly what they're doing.

well I dont know which indie are you used to, or listen to... but man, those two guitars on a very poor powerchord, with that almost-granny bass...and that drums... It looks like someone really want that four gals rounding in places they don't deserve and there's nothing to do about
William Rehbock couldn't agree more, when I first heard them I wasn't sure but the album is addictive. Sure beats all the crap in the charts

Saw them early this year at the Hare and Hounds Kings Heath Birmingham. Loved them so going again on the 23/02/16 same venue .

+Bel Casas Bob Dylan doesn't have a great voice. Kurt Cobain is not great at guitar or singing. Axl Rose is not a great piano player. Keith Richards is not a great guitar player. The list goes on, what's your point. Great music goes beyond technicality, it just needs to touch your heart. Plus there are so many great musicians you can't write an appealing song for the life of them.
I really don't get all these negative comments. Bands like Shame and IDLES (who are both awesome) are worshipped for this style; messy guitars, imperfect vocals. Yet bands like Hinds are getting slaughtered for this style...

Don't get me wrong, you have every right to not be into their music. However some of these comments are ridiculous. Garage/Lo-Fi is supposed to be messy, imperfect. The vocalists have character to their voices.

I added "New for you" to my spotify playlist in june of 2018 and since then I find that hinds is a good band. I like that it's a girls only band, that its a bit messy and they don't seem to care too much about what others might think about their music (could be completely wrong here, just a feeling). A lot of their songs are catchy, I like it. Keep it up, senoritas!

Wow a lot of you guys in the comments seem like genuinely horrible people. I mean you do realize behind bands there are actual people with actual feelings, personally I was really stoked when I heard they would be on KEXP, especially considering the fact they are based all the way in Spain. If it's not your thing that's ok, just move on, but some of you are genuinely insulting, and that doesn't do anyone any good.
Yeah, some people are definitely insulting just to be insulting, but if people can't genuinely critique things, nobody would ever get better, unless they themselves saw room for improvement. Having the ability to receive someone else's criticism (who hasn't been part of it from the birth of the concept of the work) can really help introduce something you never considered or had some mental block about.
All this being said, I saw this band open up live for Glass Animals in 2015, they were bad. Had a shitty attitude as well. They have this fun girl persona they push, and hop around on stage pretending to have a super blast like a bunch of cute innocent chicks that just like to have fun...then they are super full of themselves and expect everybody to take them super seriously, when their music, frankly, is low quality and low skill level.
You can't play lower quality music with the persona "i'm just having fun" to excuse your lack of skill, then be upset when people refer to you as a "fun group of girls" rather than "deep, talented musicians". Frankly, these chicks take themselves too seriously for the amount of time and work they've put into their art. They are playing lofi to cover their garbage equipment and musical skill, then want to be taken seriously as artists.
All this being said, flat out insulting people doesn't do anyone any good, but also defending someone against constructive criticism does less, if you can't take someone's opinion, you shouldn't be interacting with other human beings, because that is the function of language, to receive other perspectives and use them to adjust your own.

jordan, I agree with your point, although if you really put some thinking here you'll realize that the issue here isn't good critique. there are thousands of boy bands with the same level of musical and technical quality as them, bands that are "just for fun" and no one comes to their videos on youtube and takes the time to write 4 paragraphs listing all the points that lack something on their performance for their own sake of improvement. it's completely naive to think that. people are actually bothered because when a band isn't so good but get's so much attention that's normal if they are men, but if you're a girl you should learn how to do better right? who cares if they are not so good for your taste? people should go write good stuff about the artists they like and respect the artists they don't like. no one critiques bands in public for their sake, it's just for that personal satisfaction of disqualifying something. people are not doing this here and this should all be considered before putting critique in perspective here.

Wenn ihr in Spanien nicht beliebt seid..in Deutschland schon! Macht weiter so Mädels! Nach dem ersten Album dachte ich: Echt coole Musik, aber wird das reichen für eine zweite Platte? Das nun schon eine dritte kurz vor der Veröffentlichung steht...natürlich schon verbestellt...hätte man damals nicht geglaubt. Aber das macht es ja noch schöner! Danke an euch, die es tatsächlich geschafft haben, mal wieder so eine chaotische Musik zu machen, von der man vor euch nicht wußte, daß sie einem so sehr fehlt!

Ihate Googleplus exactly!! Their songs stick in my head . Tbh they are not very good. Kind of like a Kurt cobain vibe . Because Kurt was not a very good guitar player , but nirvana was a great band .
Reminds me of an esoteric dreampop band from the 90s, called Drugstore, with Isabel Monteiro. Definitely the same vibe, sounds, same sweet, sexy and angry voice. Amazing how things come around.

All these people are saying that they don't play well or that they sound bad. A bunch of famous and very successful artist don't sound traditionally good, but they're usually men. I'm not saying that it's simply sexism that's making all of these people say that they aren't sufficient, but that definitely plays a grand role in the criticism of this band.

I got Hinds album since they sound more artsy than other Spanish bands but naming the Libertines here is total trolling or you are a beta man trying to put girls in a pedestal.
By the other side, Has Spain got any good catchy music making bands?
While the girl with the long straight hair singing voice is pretty appealing to me, the other girl with the curly hair needs some vocal practice or lessons to increase her range and get melodically upbeat in whatever she’s trying to sing.
Hope to attend their live concert if they ever come to Japan.
Maybe many people hate that their marketing and networking is pretty good and well, but that makes these girls appear as smart and I’m not a hater like many other Spanish people commenting everywhere. I am not from Spain though.
