Phil always brags about his reading skill and yet he rarely actually exhibits it.
I've seen him make his share of sick laydowns and hero calls on the river, although I've also seen him make some really spewy hero calls there as well. :-D He seems more spewy though on earlier streets (especially when he's tilting) like it seems rather frequent for him to stack off with just TP on the turn or even middle pair on the flop when his opponent has a monster.
I kept thinking with this match that Tonkaaaa could have extracted more value from Phil when he flopped or turned a really strong hand by just raising Phil instead of smooth calling since Phil tends to plays fit-or-fold on the river to large bets (either as a result of "hand reading skills" or just being a nit on 5th street).
Tonka shoulda waited like for 1 min before calling XD I woulda payed my whole salary to see that one

Rants, nags, steam, and tilts aside. Phil truly is one of the greatest poker players of all time. And honestly I'll take his rents about losing over listening to DNegs talk shit about his winnings. I was Dan's biggest fan from shit 2002 to shoot 2015 and then he just went into the toilet. As much as I love his hand reading ability, his ego has completely ruined his personality for me. His arrogance is vomit inducing for me.

i do not understand why phill is playing the game lately the way he does i have watched many of his dvd and read his books on poker he is not playing the way he teaches us to play i think he should take a short break and review his own instruction on the game then start over fresh.
