CALFIRE Responding to Boat SOS + Fire Trucks and CHP Responding!

I heard sirens so I ran to the highway, filmed Chief 1713 Responding but had no idea it was for a Maritime SOS, (A boat 1 mile off the coast was shooting flares).
The other calls aren't related, but are still awesome.

What's the role of CAL FIRE in santa cruz? Typically, they either forest fire, or contract to unincorporated areas like LA COUNTY fire does.

It’s the same way here as far as I know. They respond through town a lot though.

They (we) are an all-risk department meaning they hand any and all types of emergency calls. In some areas, they are contracted to either staff local fire departments or respond in place of.

Two separate responses, the first engine to leave was a Code-3 medical, and the 2nd and 3rd truck was for a Code-2 medical.
