Both Federer and Nadal are exceptional human beings, not only exceptional tennis players. Their passion and professionalism is something extraordinary. They not only mastered tennis, they redefined what was possible. Great sportsmen, great rivalries yet great friends. They inspired, whether you were a tennis player or not. They taught those who watched them, as much about life as tennis. Thank you to you both. Mr Federer, i will so miss your grace, humility and skill on the professional circuit. I only watch grand slams but that still means I watch much more tennis than the average person, so I’m aware of most of those names you listed but they’re not prominent enough for me to know about their personal lives to make a judgment but it doesn’t matter because none of them are anywhere near as successful as the people we have been talking about in this conversation (Novak IS on the skill level, but is NOT on the personal level). If Tsisipas and Berittini (or whatever) are as good of people as Roger and Rafa, I could like their entire package better than Novak’s entire package, but only Roger and Rafa are both potential “goats” AS WELL AS men whose character and class never take a moment off.

It was a beautiful and poetic final for Federer - sharing the court with his bestie and brother Rafa. This will be remembered forever.
And Federer and Nadal truly embody the ethical sportsmanship, as do a few other gentlemen on the tour. This will always be cherished.
On that note I found Tiafoes shots directed at body very unsportsman-like and left a bad taste to everyone. Maybe on some ATP tours yes, but here, not during this match which was more of a celebration of a legend. Don't play dirty here. Goes to show, not everyone carries the gentlemans allure.

To be fair they were definitely doing less body shots than usual, it's a very common shot in doubles when u have an opponent blocking both sides 2 metres from you. So I'm not mad at them. But yeah it was just kinda deflating, tough way for it to end...

It was not about winning. It was about enjoying the court last time with ur biggest rival and friend

Don't think of this as a sad ending, look at how happy Federer was on the court. He was genuinely having a blast and enjoying the last moments of his career which was def helped by Rafa being there. I remember them cracking jokes and goofing around the whole match, cause they knew this was the last time they could have fun playing with each other together on court.

I really think it’s ironic that the shot at :30 , sums up his career , unbelievable, this man , if your a fan of tennis , there’s no words , he’s an enigma , that shot at : 30 was very proper for his last game , i started playing tennis because of roger as an adult , it’s like someone died when he retired , such a strange thing , thank roger for turning me on to the game of tennis 🎾

And your gonna tell me there isn’t a higher power , that kind of shot may or may not have ever been hit in a match of tennis , cmon off the post in between the net , I personally think in my beliefs that was a higher power saying thanks
