I think that it's necesary to aply a protective gasket or sealant betwen the floor and the first profile, to protect the base of the wall from the rain. Minute 3:06

I think it's there so that moisture can get out from behind the wall. That's the explanation I've heard.

Shouldn't the house wrap go over the edge of the starter strip? That's seems how everyone else says to do it for proper drainage.

How do I install the ledge when the siding is already in place. I am removing lower section of existing siding to install the brick look and mate it up to the existing siding at the top row of the brick.

Improper flashing at bottom of Window. No flashing at the bottom of wall and concrete surface. Moisture on concrete can run under bottom of wall causing rot to the sill plate, possible water damage inside the building, pest infestation will also accor. All of the nails in the wall are puncturing the air and water barrier and causing leak points into the house. Each nail needs to be sealed. Product has to be applied onto plywood or some similar rigid substrate which eliminates the possible use of rigid insulation on the exterior. Many other products on the market better than this.

@@Haleema659 I don't know where you are, but I'm just outside Tampa, FL (in Riverview).
We did better than expected. We actually found someone LOCAL down in Palmetto (about 40 minutes away) who actually manufactures concrete to look like stone called GB Stoneworks. Our house looks AMAZING now and almost a year later, we're STILL getting compliments from our neighborhood.
We lucked out in that we found someone local, cheaper than the national brands, and they did all the work. Couldn't have asked for more.
      We are extremely pleased !!
