Tongue in my opinion your channel quality is easily a 100K followers channel, so you will hit 10K in no time! Thanks for the great quality content bro, i love it! I wish I could afford this lens also in the future, now I have only 23mm 1.4 with my X-T2. :)
Dawee thanks man! Comments like this really does motivate me to create more video for you guys! Thanks so much for watching and for your support bro ♥️😭
Good review. I cover the wide end with the 16-55, or the 14mm 2.8., which seldom gets mentioned on yt videos (though i don't know how it compares to these). I used it for interiors more than the 16mm on the zoom, with good results (yes, mostly cramped , small apartments in France), plus the couple of mm in difference allows for more margins for correcting perspective. I wish fuji would make a TS lens... (Also IIRC the 14 is very good at IR photography. Don't know how these new ones fare in that area.)
I agree with your conclusions after adding the 18mm f1.4 and comparing it to my 16mm f1.4. As soon as I picked it up I noticed the loose rings, and it’s definitely super sharp at f1.4. After more testing I found the focal length is different to the 16mm, with less distortion on the edges. However, I found it basically replaced my need for the 16mm so I sold the 16mm. So yes, it’s kinda the new 16mm but with less character/optical flaws!
Nicely done brother I think that Fuji should have done another version of the 16mm 1.4. Other than that this lens seems solid like you said 28mm is an all time fav thanks to the Q but I still have some love for the Fuji 16mm 1.4. Great video brother
I'm tempted to get this lens because it's much sharper than the 16 and has better corrections, but the 16 has that close focus advantage. If I could justify owning both, then I'd use the 16 for extreme close focusing and the 18 for everything else, but for now I'm keeping the 16. :) Also, FujiRumors says that Fuji's upcoming X-H2 will do 8k video, so we might expect over 40mp if it's true.
16mm f1.4 rocks! I'm going to sell mine to cop this one for the future proofing. I want the XH2 to have 4k120 and be a beast in low light but if it has 40 megapixels I don't think it's gonna be that good. 🥴
just saw your vids in 2022, for 16mm owner, I don't think this is worth the money to upgrade. But for those who hasn't owned wide angle fujinon, this is really tempting.
I bought this lens 2-3 weeks ago :D I didn't have the 16 and had never used it. I had the 23 f1.4 but ended up selling it (due to AF noise and AF speed, because image quality was magic). I'm really liking the 18. I like the focal lenght, I like the AF, the crispiness, everything. :D
I love your reviews, tongue. I also love the 18mm focal length for Fuji (I have the older janky one). HOWEVER, I have moved over to medium format film now and I can't justify spending that much on only 1 lens for a digital system. For the same price I could get a mint Mamiya 645 pro with lens imported from japan.
Thanks Kris! Nice! My buddies have been telling me to try film photography ... I was looking into that mamiya 645 6 months ago... How are you enjoying that? Probably better than the 18mm f1.4 IMO haha 😜
@@Iamtongue Man, your friends are right about film. In terms of image quality, the 6x4.5 format negative scans to about 24 megapixel resolution. But the colors and character from the old analog lenses are 👌 *chef's kiss*
I like both. It's hard to decide on just one man...but if I were choose I would choose the x100v and live with that focal length. The x100v has a smaller footprint. And that updated 23mn f2 lens is something special. 🤭
I would love to but I don't own the 18mm f2. If someone from Fujifilm sees this can you send me a review unit so I can do a comparison video please and thank you....xoxo

I just found your channel and watched some of the videos, you’re doing a very good job (yes, I did subscribe).
Haha wow! Thanks for watching Enrique and I appreciate the love and support ♥️♥️♥️
I’m late but checking in, thanks for the review! 😎
Thanks brother !
I love my fuji xf18mm f/2 lens(compact and light!), but I really wanna try this 18mm f/1.4 lens! Great review Tongue!
Thanks for watching Nate 😊
I really think if Zhou keep up the work your channel will become one of the best photography related channels. Really wish you all the best.
Wow, thank you for saying that! I'm going to try my best :D
Love the colors. Great review.
Thank you sir!

I use to own the 14mm. But ultimately sold it because of I don't use it often. But during my time with it, I had alot of fun with it!
The shirt and the lens review 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Hahaha I'm glad you're digging both!😝

Look forward to your next zoom interview with the FujiX Aus community too! 😀

40 megapixels for a video centric camera? 😝 Ohh man

So damn crispy eh! The 18mm f1.4 is nice like that 🤭😊
Good review mate

Has your opinion changed on the X100v vs 18mm f1.4 for travel and street?

Next try to review the XF 16-80 and XF 10-24 please, for Travel Filmmaking and video work !!!
I'll add it to the list 😜
Can you do a review on the 18mm f2 and do a comparison video with the 18mm f1.4? 😁
I would love to but I don't own the 18mm f2. If someone from Fujifilm sees this can you send me a review unit so I can do a comparison video please and thank you....xoxo

Thanks for watching 😁
That intro was lit. Was that on the 18mm as well?
Intro was filmed on the sirui anamorphic lens!
That intro scene was EPIC
man thank you! that 1 minute intro took 3 hours to edit!!! so i appreciate you liking it ahhaha :D
@@Iamtongue Haha damn 3 hours?!! No wonder it was so epic. The color grading was insane.
Dude.. were all those pics SOC? Great review 👌
The shots from the Bahamas were SooC jogs. And then portraits with the model who's in my thumbnail are all edited from raw.
@@Iamtongue sweet. Thanks for that, it was the Bahamas shots that grabbed my attention. Great shots, fantastic lens. Cheers 👍
@@NowinLao thanks for the love and support! I appreciate it :D
What an intro!!!!
Thank you! I tried🥺☺️
01:43 Just found your channel today, and your realness is amazing 🤣
But seriously, thanks for the solid, honest review!
Hahah thanks Steve! It's all part of the charm 🥲🤣😅
EPIC INTRO!
Thanks daddy
@@Iamtongue hahahahaha
Mr. SPARKIRU
18mm has no almost distortion compared to the 16mm which has just enough to be interesting.
if you get close enough to the face for portraits it makes the face look unatural.. thats what i meant
Awww baby tongue
ahaha
U shouldn’t get distortion using this focal length my man
MR. SPIRKILE!!!!!!!
Hahaha classic episode!
@@Iamtongue yes what was crazy was how much the advertisements in rural Japan looked like that.
Also love my FF 28mm, the equivalent to your xf18mm
