Wouldn’t say that last time they wrestled Lee won. I do think yianni is a much better wrestler just a bad match up for him. Yianni was this close to being the best in the world and winning the finals match. It might sound silly to say but I feel like the thing he needs to focus on the most is shooting with proper head and back positioning. A lot of times he shoot’s like Steibwe does diving with head down and gets himself in trouble and also he relies a lot on scoring off other peoples shots almost like he lets them get in on him but against guys like Lee, retherford and the guy in the world finals they have such good positioning when they get in that’s he’s not able to do what he can do against everyone else. That and countering the underhook series. That Iranians exposed him with his underhook. I think he needs to get stronger as well looks a little small for this weight. I am 100% certain that’s the only reason retherford beat him 2 year ago in final x. Yes retherford has amazing technique as well but it looked like he was able to keep himself on the match and defend off brute strength like he big brothered him. Same as dake to nolf I don’t think dake is a better wrestler I think they are very close and strength made the difference. Nolf got so deep in on dake and he cheat wrapped and crunches him while he had the leg all the way up. He would finish thag on everyone else in the world lo. I think yianni got screwed at the end of the match with retherford. Some calls in this Match were questionable as well but Lee definitely earned it. I hope Lee wins worlds but I don’t see him beating that Iranian or maybe even medaling tbh. I think we are sending the second best out there. I still can’t help but think about that Lee lost to Bartlett his teammate at the us open and then got told he won later that day cus they messed up the score and then he was down by what like 8 points to McKenna and came back and won lol he is definitely a winner tho. Sorry for my rant

Lee didn't win second match there was no exposure gave it too penn state get all calls cause off Sanderson hope lee medals but probably won't yanni still best 65 in usa he would of mefdaled again good luck lee.

I am really surprised that that drag at 5:55 worked.
Why would USA Wrestling not have better officials for such an important event. Match 1: First mistake, it was Lee with criteria after the 2 and 2. Next mistake, which altered outcome of the match - the caution 1 against Yanni. It was a ridiculous call. I’ve been watching freestyle wrestling my whole life, caution 1 when grounded… that’s a first. It also lead to another 2 for Lee because Yanni was put in parterre and Lee got a trapped arm gut. Take those 3 points away from Lee and Yanni wins 7-5. Match 2: First mistake, should have been 4 for Lee on initial takedown… it was feet to back. Granted, there was no elevation, so maybe they saw it as feet to butt. Now, for more questionable calls. The quick tilt that sent Lee from 4 to 6 points. Yanni’s hips exposed, but not his back. Lee likely just got his missing 2 points back. Okay. But to get another 2 at the end of the match for another non exposure… that was reviewed… that everyone could see? Regardless, if Lee got the 4 at the beginning, he wins 8-8 on criteria. But… there should have been a third match. Officiating was bad throughout the tournament.
I dispise Lee but I have to admit the dude literally gets better every single year.
