As a black American male, I believe that on the various subjects that created the intense and highly entertaining conversational dialogue between PBD, & Roland M., I can honestly say that each sentiment from each individual was correct. It’s important as a black individual or any individual who has ancestors that experienced extremely difficult times, to always realize that there may be various obstacles and issues to overcome due to prior history, primarily because one will be prepared and not surprised by them, but I like to take the approach that PBD was referring to, which is basically to eradicate the victim persona and woe is me mindset, but instead work hard, remain committed, motivated, and most importantly consistent, and any negative factor that may arise can be overcome. Build a positive mindset, and network, and trust me from personal experience life can gradually begin to drastically improve, regardless of any circumstances that could and will most likely affect those who are black/minorities. PBD was trying to explain that by referring to his personal history as an individual from Iran, and through each obstacle he has built an empire that any individual from any culture should take note of and implement those habits into one’s personal repertoire.

I definitely respect Pat for this interview and demonstrating his willingness to have someone on with completely opposing views. Pat is a beast. However, he doesn't have the tools, the data, nor the historical knowledge to compete with Roland in a debate like this. Roland will tell you who, what, the specific year, the location, and pull up the receipts from text messages. They should do it again at a later date.
He still wouldn’t do his research even in a years time. That’s the problem.
His “lack of knowledge” gives him plausible deniability. If he actually had all the facts- he might be forced to question his views.

Please explain what made sense. He was extremely rude and interrupted almost every sentence. Used anecdotes and when asked to provide numbers and data he just spoke louder over Patrick as if that makes you look more mature and intelligent. Roland Martin is the personification of the classic lawyer's axiom: "If you have the facts on your side, pound the facts; if you have the law on your side, pound the law; if you have neither the facts nor the law, pound the table."

But, I felt this was not a good interview for Pat, Roland unpacks his answers and gives clear examples in his responses to questions to better understand his response to a question. Pat didn’t appear used to that.
He Pat wanted to know why Blacks Predominantly voted Democrat over last 53 years and no policies have been created. Roland’s point was that regardless of what party was in power on who blacks voted for neither party proffered policies that helped black folk. Pat was trying to say vote Republican you might have. A chance. Roland’s point was the primary party in leadership is usually republicans in states and that has not bode well. Pennsylvania is viewed as a dem state but are legislation is all Republicans house and senate with a democratic governor 🤷🏾♀️

Those we're not facts, that was a general statement. The devil is in the details. What neighborhoods are the houses being appraised in is important not color. If you buy something in a neglected neighborhood and invest a million dollars in it, the appraisal won't be a million. If you buy in a high demand area with A+ school districts that million invested could double or triple. That is too general of a statement. Roland is impossible to talk to and understand any other perspective than his own. So PBD is right, that is bullsh*t, not enough data!

The main reason people were leaving California is because of high taxes, covid restrictions, and crime. Why are people moving to, say, Florida is because low taxes, minimal covid restrictions and low crime. Are there other factors, sure. They could also leave because of their job, weather, family responsibility, etc. That's 1% of the reasons people leaving.

They throw out numbers to prove a point. What they don't get into is the reason for the differences in those numbers. Look at the family structures in the communities that have those low scores. Majority of the families are single parents on welfare. Only 20% of black people ever marry, which mean that 80% of black children are born in a single parent home. During the 60's black women were told they could get welfare if there was no man in the house. Look at the level of education and quality of education. Look at the high number of teen pregnancies. Then there's the issue of crime. Nobody wants to buy a home in a high crime area. Therefore the value of the property doesn't appreciate.
Mississippians are not broke! The cost of living is not as high in Miss as it is in NY, Cali, Texas.
