thanks for being honest about being let go at your first programming job due to performance, this happens alot in the programming industry and many people don't talk about or admit this. companies for software engineers are very strict and don't allow much for improvement or training. this has happened to me several times, programming is fun and so i keep going. being your own boss is ideal!
The youtuber is blatantly lying. Compare what he says here 0:17 to his marclouvion linkedin profile. He says he taught himself to in 2021 yet he's already been coding since 2015 as stated in his linkedin profile. He's trying his best to spin a "rags to riches" story using lies to gather more engagement. Zero integrity. He probably doesn't even earn what he claims he earns.
Love learning more about you Marc! Crazy journey you've had over the past few years It goes to show that you don't need to code for 10y+ before launching something! Can't wait to see more!
Would love to see videos about how you would change your journey from no code knowledge to first product using your experience and hindsight. Like what is the journey you would plant for past you, using your current perspective?
bro this is very inspiring, I just started my web dev journey and got my first job. I dont want to be a 10x developer tho, I dont want to be a senior tech lead or get paid 20K working a 9-5. I want to be able to make an A-Z service that can people can pay me for that solves a specific problem or creates a good solution and then move to another one. I have alot of Ideas that I started applying and want to apply more but I hope I get more time and dedication to do so, your video really helped me because I believe the moment I will start getting 300$ a month from my apps I will go full on Solopreneur mode. Thank you Marc, 10/10 video.
legit inspiring, my key takeaway, just keep building & shipping. Don't think that you need to create something innovative, make something useful & valuable & just ship it.
Hi, Marc. I'm a college student who aspires to be also an successful entrepreneur like you. So I checked your twitter and found that you were very consistent in Github activities recently. I myself also have urge to paint my github profile green, but having to write commit messages everytime and repeatedly commiting feels like they lower my productivity cause they are bit distracting. Do you think its important to do github consistantly?
Marc, your Linkedin profile, linked from your personal site and this videos description, shows that you studied a computer science degree from 2011 to 2016 and have been working as a coder since at least 2017. No matter what, you have absolutely achieved great things and are clearly a talented coder and entrepreneur but I feel like you are being very dishonest in your video when you say you are a self-taught developer and have come this far in 3 years. Have I missed something?
I did go to uni and spent 5 years drinking beers and playing WoW. I managed to get the diploma because I copied other students during the final exam. I started to learn coding right after uni.
As a current CS student, you don’t really learn how to code practical/useful things in college. A lot of that comes from dedicating personal time to building projects and applications outside of school, hence the “self taught” claim that most boast.
This is great thanks Marc, I'd love to see a video on how you pick the ideas you work on. I've seen you mention it is best to create solutions to painful problems so would be keen to hear how you figure out what is a painful problem to solve.
Hey Marc! I have been following since the beginning of your solopreneur journey. I still remember watching your live coding videos & your wife used to come and say something in Korean! Really happy to see your growth. More power to you! I have a question for you - Where did you learn your tech stack from - React + NextJS + TailwindCSS ? And when it comes to learning from CZcams/Udemy, how can you be consistent, because I am finding that to be the most difficult - just trying to understand your coding journey. Any help is appreciated! Thank you and All the best - will keep following your amazing work!
Hey I love your message! Thanks for sticking around. I learned Javascript & React on Udemy ( it was boring but necessary) Then I learned NextjS by making apps. Curious, what the #1 reason you're learning how to code?
Amazing journey. Congrats. ❤ If you were start learning programming today, what tech stack you would have learned that you think is must and move you faster to build products ?
He is misleading people. After gaining a Computer Science Masters in 2016, he moved from his home country in France to Korea to build a VC-funded gasoline prediction app startup that uses a lot of impressive buzzwords like “machine learning algorithms” and “price prediction models”. He already had a CS Masters in 2016, that's like a huge advantage. It is really disingenuous, I just lost all respect.
A CS masters isnt relevant when you build startups. The developer behind the product doesn’t matter. Him losing your respect doesn’t matter, because clearly your respect isn’t worth very much anyways by the way you are trying to act. My opinion anyways. No need to hate
😅 Find the error: A mediocre programmer that was fired for being a bad programmer created 20 successful apps. Att: spent 3 years learning how to code and got fired because of being a mediocre programmer.
@@xxh55 The point is how he got so good on his own to the point that he is making millions with professional websites if he failed to do to ease things in normal jobs ?! To build all this sites you need not only good skills but money if he was broke living with his parents suddenly became a genius. @@englishspacitel258 He has around 20 products, from what I've seen all of them are pretty small with a limited amount of features, nothing on the level of really big corporations or anything like that. I think you view this thing from the perspective of a programmer who is very focused on the product itself and the features, rather than the business side, and I understand that, but to make money you really just need to solve a problem or an inconvenience of your target users. He does exactly that with some simple products which are also not very expensive for the average person and he simply promotes himself well.
