Yggdrasil, the immense and central sacred tree in the vikings world. Around it exists everything else, including the nine worlds.
Funny you mention Sabaton, because Brothers of Metal are from the same small town as Sabaton, called Falun. 👍
    Great reaction.
    Please more BoM.

Their newest album has some incredible singing of Ylva. Weaver of fate and Emblems Saga. She also has a folk/country duo with another female singer where both also play guitar called Good Harvest. Worth checking out too. Very good.

Odin also sacrificed one of his eyes to drink from the well of knowledge to gain immense wisdom. Pretty metal.

Yggdrasil is the world tree in Norse Mythology, it's branches hold the 9 realms. At the roots of the tree is the realm of the dead / underworld (Niflheim and Helheim) and at the top of the tree is the realm of the gods / Valhalla (Asgard). Earth realm (Midgard) is in the middle. So the chorus "Rise above the mountains, light a fire in the sky, for the blood is running still from the roots of Yggdrasil. Rise above the mountains, light a fire in they sky, carry me to the hill, to the top of Yggdrasil" is talking about their dead bodies going down to the roots of the tree to Niflheim and their souls going up to the top of the tree to Asgard since they fell in battle and were deemed worthy to enter Odin's hall.

And at the roots of Yggdrasil there are three nornor (no english on that word) Urd, Skuld and Verdandi who spins the thread of fate. Actually named my cats Norna and Loke but then I am swedish and know this facts from school wish might have helped inspire their names😊.

I enjoyed this but you must listen to Lovebites a Japanese metal band. Five incredible musicians all female with a different take on metal music. Suggest Holy war and edge of the world to get an idea of there talent. Watch the live versions they are amazing.
