The drill bit depends on the size of the wire. The wire I used was the tongue from the trap that I used, but any heavy wire would work. Simply match the drill bit to the wire you have chosen. I hope this helps!
I'm not sure about paintballs. .68 paintballs would probably be too big; I doubt you could fit enough in to make it worthwhile. Youd want to go with .43- the problem would be whether it could impart sufficient forced to break the paintball if it hit anything. I'm thinking probably not- but the only way to know is to test it
