Find Sabaton in 2009 when I was 3 years old. My dad has always been listening to Sabaton, Powerwolf and others in the car.
The fact this song is about Swedish history, performed by a Swedish band in Swedish language + Apocalyptica's freakin epic chellos and the enthusiasm of the corwd just gives me goosebumps. And I'm not even Swedish. There's always some magic when a band plays in their home country in their mother tongue.

I started learning Swedish last year, I got into Sabaton a few months later, and nothing was a better surprise in 2021 than realizing that those guys are from Sweden and have in fact recorded a *whole album of songs all in Swedish*. Best way to learn new words

Technically it is, except the swedish version is the king being slightly more "insane" considering he been taught that hes something special and hes claiming power not from the church, but that its from God. Meaning hes born to lead, and tells his men dont question my orders, while the english version says question me and you die. So to summarise; Swedish version is im Gods gift to the nation, follow in line cause i will lead next to those at the upmost front. While english version is see me succeed, and i have no mercy for either my subordinates nor my enemies.

I think it's actually called the Caroleans, Sabaton literally made a song about them in the same album

I like the swedish versions too. They sounds more beautiful and i don't know why, but for me are easier to learn the lyrics. Perhaps because is almost like the spanish, it is written the same as it is pronounced.

For our non Swedish Friends. Carolus Rex is the Latin name of our King called Karl XII, or Karl the 12th, or Charles XII of Sweden. He inherited the throne as a very young man and was just 15 years old when he became king in 1697. When he entered the throne, Sweden was in war with all our neighbors and was what we today would call a great power. While he was know as a very skilled military leader, he is also know as the king who ended the Swedish Empire as the great power. He is believed to have been shot by his own, a Swedish Karolin (Karoliner - Carolean Solider) at Fredriksten fortress in the year of 1718. At this point of time the people of Sweden where sick of war and many Swedish villages no longer had a male population. We where all at war.

I lived in a student dorm in the 90’s where many of the other guys were foreign exchange students. We used to leave our doors to the open for anyone to visit if they wanted so it was quite familiar. There was this Portuguese student who had no radio or CD player so he asked me if he could play some of my CD’s while I was gone for the day. When I got back I heard familiar music coming out of my room. It was Lill Lindfors and “Du är den ende” on high volume and the Portuguese guy was sitting hypnotised on the floor in front of my stereo. He had found the record in my collection and had been playing it on repeat for several hours and explained that this was one of the best records he had ever heard although he didn’t understand the lyrics. He later brought the record and sent it back to his family in Portugal.
