Izumi, a male of stunning feminine looks, was born into a family of celebrities: his father is a singer, his mother an artist, his older brother the lead vocalist for a popular band. Izumi himself, however, is just a nerdy college student, and he wants to become a manga writer. One day he is roped into filming a commercial where he wears a dress. Another actor on the set, Ryoma Ichijo, mistakes him for a woman and falls in love at first sight. However, Ryoma feelings don't change when he finds out Izumi is a boy.

bro do people realize they can’t just find someone who has fkin sparkly marble looking eyes, plus the whole point in the anime and manga was that they were natural, him being naturally beautiful, if he wears contact lenses it will (obviously) not look real, remember his eyes were like yellow with purple or somethin, it won’t look good irl if you want to pass it off as real 👍🏻

Uh...Japan has done AMAZING life-action adaptations. I can name maybe 4 poor live-action adaptations, bltrash & heterotrash together.

This adaptation actually pretty good, Japan has its own humor, and they way they telling a story. But it's overall good movie for me.
Not as high like " life: love on the line adaptation" but it a solid 8/10 for me
In Japan BL Life love on the line is one of the most beautiful series I never gonna tired to watch this series
'Cherry magic' & 'A Man Who Defies The World of BL' are solid too. :)
@TheaOlivia This has nothing to do w/ "Japan has its own humour". I've been watching Jdoramas, animes, & films for over 35yrs...I think I get it by now. This is about filming, acting, & actors - Japan can do better. They failed miserably here. Especially for a manga that was so popular, it deserves the same time & effort they put in for Itazura na Kiss or Hana Yori Dango. I don't see it here.
@@zzsmile1 Cherry Magic was fine in regards to bltrash. However, when we're talking about a nice class act of bltrash where I was like you can't get even more trashy than this then it's A Man Who Defies the World - what a waste of time & filming.

ALOT of y'all don't understand how it's not easy for them to find characters that look like them.a blond hair big eyed guy isn't just gonna come in without trouble i honestly think it looks cool and funny
Not gonna lie, I feel like one of the things bringing this thing down is the darker look of the scenes.
Another is the lack/overuse of make up in some parts. And just the overall appearance of the people playing the parts not being the best, and their acting skills being lack luster AT best (no offense to the actors). Not to mention the weird editing.
After watching this trailer i think I'm not gonna watch it,i don't wanna ruin my favourite manga

When I heard that they were doing the live version of Love Stage I was soooo excited!!!!. I started watching it last night I still cannot finish it because I could not stand to watch the whole movie in one seating. I thought it would be like Cherry Magic or Love-Live on the Line, but instead it's just disappointed me like most Japanese Live versions of their Anime and Manga. Japan has created many incredible and amazing, anime and manga, but fall short on live versions. I think a Thai version would have been sooooooooo much better. Thai actors and the entire crew work hard to bring stories to live from the pages without sacrificing the integrity of the original work. It's just my opinion, watch the movie if you want and let me know what you think.

Totally agree with you! Cherry Magic and Love-Live on the line are so much better than this! Even tho I love Love Stage anime so much...I feel like there's lack of chemistry between the actors of the live version!
Oh God!!! I used to love this manga and also the anime a lot!! I've just saw this trailer right before I write this comment... It is really terrifying... like for real :'((( I know that the Japanese live-action usually has that over-acting way, but I don't think it's gonna be this over... Izumi is like the cutest boy in the world!! And look how they do to my Izumi!!!!! Izumi is not like that :'(((((((
I was excited when I first saw this without watching the whole trailer but then I watched the trailer and now I'm super sad ... they didn't even ask Izumi to wear a wedding dress and that like one most important part like how Izumi looks like a woman your right if it was the Thai version it would've been more detailed that's why even though Japan is so popular in yaoi manga they are starting to get beaten by Thai dramas and Yaoi Webtoons or Manwha by Koreans because of the details and acting in a way that is mixing reality to the manga adaptation.

Okay this one aired in 2020 but the makeup is hilarious. I already watched the anime version but this one looks so dissatisfying bcz of this cartoon like makeup. After watching cherry magic, sorry I have to say that this one is totally a no from me. It's quite disappointing for those fan like me who was waiting for the drama adaptation.

I just dissapointed that they didn't have Izumi dress in drag (woman clothing) but i do like the changes for the ending... However the budget for the Sena's house was so low, i thought which student apartment that they filmed those scene.
