it is so important to have a "burner stand" to get kids out in!!! One where noise and seriousness doesn't matter and you are just out being beginner hunters practicing the basics. Like making it short takes of sitting still and being quiet.

Your remark about the 270 reminds me of how many times experts have tried to tell me how a 270 is no good for deer hunting and I don't even know how many good bucks I have taken with mine in the last 28 years
We love our 270's! Our whole family shoots that caliber!! I love poking fun at the hunters who talk smack about them! Btw think for commenting and hope ya get a monster this season!!

On the comments about the 270 I always try to remember what Roger Raglin said about deer hunting that the best rifle to use is the one you are comfortable shooting

Took my son out this past weekend (Lexington Co); all my bucks that had been on camera stayed away Friday and Saturday. And of course back on Sunday when we were gone. That’s life! Keep ‘em outside!
He loves going in the woods with ole dad but is finally showing he’s got the ability to stay patient and wait plus the responsibility of handling firearms so I’m pulling for him hard to get one this year. I live only like 5 mins from JCs outdoors so we are somewhat in your neck of the woods. Good luck filling your tags.
Because it's not a law on private land here in SC. Plus I shouldn't have to wear something to protect myself on land I own. However we do wear orange when dog driving for deer.

My whole family shoots a Ruger 270! But that 30-06 is awesome! I have a Remington 30-06 automatic!! Can't beat them!
