Glad to hear that. Thanks for watching!
Yes sir you caught some mighty nice fish today I watch all of your shows that you put out all of the videos I watched them I do pay attention I enjoyed the video I do share it with my kids I share it with my friends I have told my friends about your your channel man that was some nice one's. Thank you for sharing you video it I will watch it
I appreciate that!
Great looking big ol' large mouths Dana!! The jig gets them every time!! Man I love to see the water so calm like that. Great Video Brother!!
Thanks 👍 I'd rather have a little wind, those calm days can be tough!
Great action and a couple of real bucket mouths in this one. Great production on a cold day. Even more amazing is you getting the editing done and the video out in the same day.
I just about didn't get it done on time!
You had a heck of a day fishing! I like the way Lanier is made because just about every point you fish has deep water nearby. I am from Milledgeville and fish Lake Oconee sometimes and Lake Sinclair mostly. They are good lakes but are much shallower than Lanier. Keep up the good work. Nobody puts out more content than you on a consistent basis. You are a grinder.
Thanks! It has been a few years since I've fished those lakes. You are correct, Lanier has lots of points. Just the way I like it!
Great video Dana, watching from Braselton Ga. You definitely have the presentation down pat. Me and my buddy were there yesterday fishing the same kind of structure and just couldn’t get many hits with what we were using. Appreciate everything, helps me learn.
Thanks for watching! They won't let a jig go by without jumping on it!
Always look forward to your vedios. Started back fishing with grandsons last summer after not fishing for many years. Oldest grandson is on South Forsyth HS fishing team and this weekend qualified for the national high school tournament to be held on Lake Hartwell in June. Finished third this weekend on lake West Point out of 110 boats. I'm old school more like you, but trying to learn the new technology. When I last fished we had only sonar. Retired and fish 2 or 3 times a week during the week.
That is awesome! I think the new technology is great, but I think they need to learn to fish first before becoming too dependent on the electronics. The old jig works great at Hartwell.
Another quality video. I was on the water Sat. during the wind fest. Just wasn’t my day. Only squeezed out 3 fish, but hey, that’s fishing. I’m from the west side of the state near Calhoun. I’ll be back to Lanier in Sept.
Keep the videos coming, I’ll catch on one of these days!
Thanks for watching! Lanier can be a tough lake to figure out, so don't feel bad.
love fishing a jig! Way to get ‘em Dana. Prespawn is an awesome time to fish a jig. I love using wobblehead too on points, but the jig is so reliable.
Couldn't agree more! I catch them year round on a jig.
Dana, the was an OUTSTANDING vid, and some big HAWGS, I’ll be up there next weekend for redemption, hopefully the wind won’t be blowing TOO hard this time, looking forward to doing ALOT better, enjoyed it.
Thanks Chauncey! I targeted some not so obvious points and it paid off. We are still behind schedule, I think it'll be a couple more weeks before a big move to the shallow water happens.
@@FCPFishing Oh ok, we got some more rain coming and these warm temperatures just to have aNOTHER cold front to come through
@@chaunceydavis5290 It has been non stop fronts all winter. I don't think a single week has gone by without one.
@@FCPFishing I’m going to try my black and blue 1/4oz jig with a berkley powerbait pit boss that I cut down, that should be a “SCRUM DELICIOUS” treat 😂
Very nice largemouth bass and spotted bass you catching I need to learn how to fish with jigs I fish with crankbaits spinnerbaits and jerkbaits
A jig is a must! The best big bass bait known to man.
You’ve given up more juice in this video and your last one. Appreciate it as always and really see your teaching spirit shining.
Thanks for watching!
I'm watching you from Toledo Ohio
A jig will work on any lake that has bass. Thanks again for watching.
29 minutes 28 seconds of stress relief and pure relaxation! Thanks Dana!!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Great video Dana. My jig game sucks, I have to get better.
Spend some time with it, there is no better big bass lure.
Great video, I love fishing a jig here in Kentucky but I've had more luck catching numbers on a shakey head.
That's awesome! Thanks for watching!
i am totally new to fishing bass and lake lanier. i used to fish salt growing up and nothing for the past 15 or so until now. i bought a tracker v16 and learned of your site. now to understand the jig........
Thanks for watching! Spend some time with the jig, it is an essential bait.
Great video. I'm really wanting to come fish Lanier but with a blown motor I'm kinda hurting to fish. But when I get the motor situation straight I'm coming to Lanier. I'm only 2 hours north. Home lake is Greenwood Lake SC. Good luck next time on the water.....
Thanks! I know the frustration of having the boat go down with engine troubles. Happens to us all. I highly recommend coming down and giving Lanier a try. Lanier is an awesome lake.
Dang you shoulda entered the tournament today. Good fish.
Thanks!
Great video iam watching from Dawsonville ga I was out there Saturday when there where having a tournament but still caught some good fish with the jig and worm and went sunday got lots if bites but keep missing them got skunked
I think there are tournaments every weekend, it's getting to be too much.
Great video from Commerce Ga. They’re moving up aren’t they?
I believe we are at the very beginning, there aren't a lot of fish shallow yet.
Wow that one is huge 😳
It was a dandy!
Awesome! No live scope fishing!
Thanks! I'd take one of them fancy units if it were given to me, but I certainly don't need one. I don't know how everyone affords all that stuff!
You were really catching the hunks today! Good day, good video!
Thanks 👍
Thank you for the videos! Great pointers for fishing jigs! You were wearing them out! I am in Rome GA and fish Rocky Mountain Public fishing lakes regularly. I am also a 64 year old guitar player and enjoy your music on your videos! Glad I found you on CZcams! Thanks again!
Thanks for watching! Glad to hear from a fellow guitar player. I spend so much time fishing and editing film that I don't get a chance to play much anymore. I'm planning on getting my chops back in shape and recording some new music for the channel, I think it's time for something new.
Well I forgot to tell you where I am currently watching your videos and in dahlonega ga
I like it up there, I used to fish in my kayak up in the Chestatee.
Just imagine the bag you would have if you were in that tournament. I'm in Washington D.C.
It would have been a good tournament bag, for sure.
Great video! I luv the jig too. Watch all your videos from up here in VA.
Awesome! Thank you! I have great memories of catching big Stripers at Smith Mountain Lake years ago!
Can’t be having those tourney fellas mean muggin’ you. Hehehe. Some dandies as usual , you’d have had a pretty good creel if you were in that tourney. Hey if it ain’t broke don’t fix it…use what works. The heck with what anybody says.
I agree. The old jig is pretty reliable.
from Marietta ga
Thanks for watching!
I guess the guy talking about you using a jig never seem you mop up on the e pop. Lol.
That E Pop will be doing some work sometime soon!
Excellent video ! Make them longer and we will watch them . Tight lines Dana !
Thanks!
A great day today! Some nice big ones!
Yes it was!
Dana,
What trailer do you use on your 1/4 jigs?
I use a chunk style trailer. Similar to a Zoom chunk
Wild stuff man. Nice work. My friend and I were out there today about 10-5, only caught one off the point via underpin. Boats and jet skis galore. Jig is obviously the deal, early morning maybe too
It was pretty busy, for sure. They can't resist the jig.
I heard you make your own jigs. Can I buy few hair jigs and bass jigs (diff colors combo) from you?
Sorry, but I don't sell them. I barely have time to make enough for me to use.
Can I ask you what jig and trailer you usually go with?
I make my own jigs, there is a video on my channel that shows how I make them.
Sutallee.....northside of the dead sea...... Allatoona
I kind of like Allatoona. Thanks for watching!
Wow is right!! What a morning
Thanks for watching!
Dana you put the smackdown them good job bud. I have too but on the blade
Nice !
Thanks!
What is the trailer you use for your jigs
I use a chunk style trailer, similar to a Zoom chunk.
what size line do u like to use jig fishing ? and brand ?
I use Gamma fluorocarbon on all my reels, it's the only line I use. No other line comes close. I use 16 lb on my jig rod.
What size jig are you using
I make my own jigs. I usually only throw a 1/4 oz jig.
Looked bigger than 4.5 lbs.
One weighed right at 4.98 pounds. Pretty good day!
Where do you put in ?
I put in all over the place. Laurel Park, Thompson Creek, Clark's Bridge, the list goes on. It all depends on the day.
Thanks Dana. Always good seeing you work behind the tournament guys and cleaning up. Watching from McDonough and have been coming up that way during our muddy water down here.
@@greghester2716 It has been pretty muddy up here too, but it was better today. Thanks for watching!
