I got my license in Norway in November partly because of your content on youtube. I think the hobby is exciting. There should be a radio amateur in every community. 73 LB6QJ
My great grandfather was born in Norway, then was brought to the US by his mother, who eventually adopted him out to a family who brought him to Oregon. I was born in Oregon. Someday I would love to visit Norway. My last name is Carlson, but my great grandfather was a Karlsen.
I am studying with Josh to get my Ham license. His channel is extremely informative and user-friendly. He is the best teacher I have found so far.
I’m learning,
You’re alright Josh…
No matter what Your Wife says about ya.
Thanks for the Training
Loving it, From Idaho
I appreciate you explaining the answers to the questions!
I’ll be saving this playlist for future use! Thanks!!!
Thanks Josh for putting these together!
Great work Josh!!!
Thanks!
Wonderful channel - Just subscribed
Thanks!
Me too
Learning is occurring!!
The reason you do a CQ with others call sign first is so they know they are the intended audience is because you do not know when someone else would tune in to that specific band and think the message is directed at them not just rely on asking if the band is used.
Moral of the story, don't make assumptions because when you assume you make an (ass out of U and me)
It is a double check for one reason it works and has stood the test of time.
i got the study book from AARL coming to me in a couple of days. Is this study book okay to use ?
i gave up a few years ago from takeing the test cause i couldnt retain enought info.
plus the radio inteface was frustrating
Thank you
T2 B12 What is the purpose of the color code used on DMR repeater system -> A ... I don't think the color codes relate to time slots but I could be mistaken.. I've never seen a DMR repeater with different color codes per time slot. I know in the greater Seattle region there are two repeaters on the same frequency (apart of the same network I believe) but use different color codes (one is CC1 and the other is CC2) to differentiating which repeater you want to access as both can be accessed when located between them.
Correct. "Color Code" is just another term for CTCSS. Optional on Analog FM, the code is required on DMR.
@@K6ARK I was trying to be polite in pointing out what Josh said about time slots and color codes was incorrect.
@@dx9s yep, and I think you were. 👍
I guess Josh actually is human and is not an omniscient bot sent to secretly infiltrate and destroy ham radio 😉
Referring to questions A05 and A08, what is the difference between CQ and QSC?
Book is out of print!
Take the link and just search “technician license 2026”. They changed publishers, so the links likely updated. I’ll update them all when I get home. Thanks for the feedback!
Thanks Josh, I did it! KQ4INL
Congrats!
Just a thought but maybe do the answers jumble? If maybe don't say answer is a or c just because I'd did on the one given that time (maybe all answers are correct was b this time but d next time) people may associate in memorization letters to answers on 1 they poof on and not at least use process of elimination.
Just an idea and they could always be in same order I dunno
Thank you ...

Scheduled for tech and general April 12.
Watching this on the 12th! Good luck!
How'd you do?
Do you have one of these for General and Extra class ?
Not yet. Soon to be working on general.
Would the FCC prohibit contact with other planets just like hostile countries?
Probably.
@@HamRadioCrashCourse I was wondering because a foreign country could set up a base on a planet for radio transmissions.
Not sure why the FCC would require an RC pilot to know all this stuff. Seems like they could make a more limited license with less knowledge requirements for people who just want to fly a drone or rc airplane.
T6 is a pain
You had 666 likes, and I couldn't resist altering that amount.
This stuff is way to hard
Didn't find this helpfull. Anyone can show answers with questions. But explaining each question where we know what they do, how it works would be more beneficial. People like me that's dyslexia and can't pronounced big words is just another let down. This discouraged me more. Thanks for nothing.
That’s the portion that’s up to you, he does give a pretty basic explanation. It’s like math, 5+5=10. If you can’t understand the answer is 10 because 5 is “too big” then get an audio book that breaks it down for you.
Don't watch.
I am pretty sure this is a test prep video, not the course. lol
