I really didn't know exactly what to expect out of Unify. Just got Unify+CloudCity as a Christmas bundle. In a nutshell, this is one of the best, if not the best, plugin purchases I ever made. This thing is absolutely amazing on its own. The fact that I can also bring all my Spectrasonics, NI, Spitfire, and other libraries into it makes the sonic possibilities virtually limitless.. Thank you so much for this amazing piece of software!!!

@@PlugInGuruVideo An honor to me :)
Everything you touch just sounds so amazing 👏..... I can't stop buying your sounds. Beautiful sounds.... Beautiful playing
John I am SOOO impressed with what you have created, I sit and watch you for hours, I am so glad I purchased and will be getting cloud city shortly..Thank you for all your great work 😎
You and Shane should both be very proud of this. It's become my "go to" sketchpad tool. It's unbelievably flexible and the speed that I can spin it up and experiment with my existing stuff without a glitch is so valuable, and you keep adding more to it! Very excited for the future :)
I am a Unifyfanboi
what a product.....if someone only learned how to use 25 percent of its power, they might still be using the most powerful product on the market....this one RUNS DEEP on unleashing the previously unknown!!!!! Thanks John Skippy Lehmkuhl!!!!
Yes.... I am always amazed at all John's sounds.... wow 👌
This sounds like the next library I'm going to purchase. I really like pitched vocal chops that played here and there in those patches you demonstrated.. it just works for Hip-Hop. Having Vocal-chops you can play like a sample-based instrument is a thing I've been wanting to have for a while now. I know that's not the main theme of this library, but it's one of the main-things to me. I also really liked the taped tongue-drum.
Merry Christmas John and Shane! Thanks for making this awesome library. Ever since I sat listening the last Dune movie while the credits rolled I've been wanting the kind of percussion you provided in this library.
Man Skipy always touch so many nobs and buttons. How in the world does he know that to touch to get the coolest sounds ..... I am always confused when he changes all the buttons but always so amazingly happy.
This dude is in a lead of his own. Mind is BLOW on every video ..... and I am bad that I love it so much
Great video upgrade. Super library.
Also, loving your enthusiasm for messing with video production lately.
Great walkthru 🚶 Pops! A superb diverse library; really enjoying the learning curve of Unify. Keep up the great work you Unify Guru's 👌
Fantastic, I've has this a few days now. The instant MIDIBox Song ideas are a winner, I'd happily buy a stack of those. Very similar to the Karma multis on my Korg Oasys, but a lot easier to get under the bonnet and swap out sounds.
Terrific library. Inspiring and a joy to play! Thank you for producing this "labor of love," as you say. Truly, I could not be more pleased with my purchase.
Pure Awesomeness. :-D
I'm Luv My Evenings with Cloud City & rest! Great vid... FULL of info that'll blow YOUR mind!
This plugin and soundset sounds ' InShane' ;-)
Ok I watched this whole video..and thought it over a while 🤔 💡 then bought it..and ...its like magic✨ in Bitwig...have a synced slow lfo moving through presets on the percussion midi..instant inspiration to make beautiful music 🎶...if u can find a way to set global temp via a looper or something ..that would imo make unify absolutely next level for organic creations ...many thx for the creative tools .. 🙌
Now we’re getting there tasty Yum Yum
I need a cinematic/ambient SkipPy library called "To Touch the Face of God."
This reminds me of earlier Casio toy keyboards with built-in musical phrases, sound effects etc. Kind of takes the creativity out with all these already made “songs”/phrases.
If this was a Casio toy keyboard where you can't load your own "songs"/phrases, I'd agree. However my friend, here you easily can load your own songs, phrases, grooves, MIDI CC Data, Pitch Bend data to interact with in new and never before done ways. The "Songs" as I mention in the video were built as we were designing MIDIBox and JitterBox. They are bonus to the 1,374 samples and Patches that make up the heart of the library. This is ALL about creativity... at least that is what I hoped would be the result of making these new tools... but hey, keep doing what your doing if it works for you.
PlugInGuru - So it’s also a sampler and one can load own samples and audio files and make patterns in this?? Or am I getting it wrong? Think I’m getting to old to keep up with this development 🤔
@@skemsen Unify allows you to layer/split *all* your virtual instruments and a ton of instruments that come with it (a.o. the Unify Sampler). Besides that it allows you to use MIDI files (thru MidiBox) to drive the vst's, or different MIDI files to drive different MIDI files, playing either notes or only CC data (think MIDI LFO), or both. You can even load a Unify patch *inside* a Unify patch, layering layers of layers... Then PolyBox allows you to cycle played notes through the different layers, so the 1st note plays the 1st vst, the 2nd note plays the 2nd.... OR the 1st note plays the 1st MIDI file in the 1st Unify layer and the 2nd... OR any variation thereof.
The basic concept is pretty simple but the possibilities you get are endless, and really mind blowing. The patches John makes largely demonstrate what can be done -- they're a pool of ideas and concepts. You don't have to use the patches "as is", but can use them as a starting point, replacing one instrument with another, one MIDI file with another... etc.
It's really a game changer in many respects. Makes you look at your old vsts in a new way. Apart from that it's incredibly low on CPU. You can load a lot of vsts at the same time without CPU overload, probably because the graphic overhead of the vsts isn't loaded (until you open the instrument to edit the patch of course). For this kind of money Unify really was a no-brainer as far as I'm concerned.
@@skemsen Oh, and I'm 57. Don't know how old you are, but "getting too old"? Nah...
chaosmeister - Thank you for your reply. It sounds complex and complicated - guess it makes more sense if you own it and can mess around with it on your own.
You use a drum beat out of Kontakt to demo a lot of sounds on your demos is that in there ??
Hi John ,question ,do i need any other third party instruments or just Unify to reach Cloud City?
Solo flight 100% Unify. Nothing else 😀
@@PlugInGuruVideo Thanks. I gonna purchase now. Great library with random genres music sounds. P.S. Please check vsti free open vsti called Surge I mentioned on last stream. Great synth with awesome filters and many possibilities.
Hey John, I'm having a difficult time creating Midi files in Logic. I've started making them in Reason. I've tried tons of them now, and none of them are formatted the way I export them. Not sure what I'm missing. Future step by step how to video maybe?
Absolutely - a couple suggestions: Start at beat 1.1.1 - if you start any measure later, it will not play till it gets to that measure. / Make sure no notes are hanging over the last measure of what you want to be a loop. If the note hangs for even 1 1/340th of a beat, it will cause an additional measure to be generate.
We will be looking at this tomorrow during the Livestream event - 12pm PDT - every Saturday!
PlugInGuru yeah I quantized it, even tried shortening the notes.
Does midi box come with the 1.1.3 update? Because I don't have it
You need to update Unify PLUS download the Unify Standard Library file and install it - that will set up the menus and install new samples + patches that I created for the 1.1 update After. Contact us at unifysupport@pluginguru.com if you need more detailed assistance, JJ.
