It's not complicated, but it is iterative. In that, one step comes before the other. So sit back and relax, or take notes or leave mean comments or whatever the heck it is that you like to do.

I love this "this is what I did" style of video. It shows how you can lower the bar for entry when you're really new to a thing.

Hi, Chris: This video is very much appreciated. There is a related issue that you may want to make a video about: the contract you need for photography. While it may be possible to get a gig, being professional with a contract and insurance are important. Who owns the images? Rights to use the images? Liability insurance? There is a whole business side to photography that few talk about in any detail.

I just message a local photographer who I’ve admired for awhile and she said we can talk about what she needs over a cup of coffee. After watching this I said screw it and I messaged her. it worked! I’m siked man. Thanks for these vids they’re really helping the small guys out here!

I'll give you another perspective. Before changing careers, I was a full time professional photographer doing mostly corporate, commercial and industrial photography. I had a full time photographer and full time secretary working for me in a brick and mortar studio. This was back in the film days.
There wasn't a week that went by that I was contacted by an eager beaver amateur that wanted to learn professional photography. They offered to do any sort of menial work and many offered to assist for free. Talking to friends still in the business and from what I've observed, it's now far worse and hyper competitive.
There's lots of reasons I couldn't take them up on their offer. Insurance was a big factor. Also, we were extremely busy. I just didn't have the time to teach newbies, I wasn't a photo school. The help I needed was far beyond the knowledge and expertise of those who came looking for a job.
Enjoy photography as an enthusiast. Learn a good paying skill like welding to support your interest in photography. There's an old saying: "An amateur photographer is someone who works a job to pay for their interest in photography. A professional photographer is someone whose partner works to pay for their interest in photography.

Real Estate photography kind of blows in some markets. Here in Boston Massachusetts and the east cost they want you to do floor plans. I've talked to a one photographer online and he said you better have insurance if you de-value a home by mistakes because he said he's seen it happen.
Down in Florida I talked to another real estate photographer and he never does floor plans.

That sucks to hear! I have mostly done reels and walk-through videos which is more like social content. It definitely removes some of those tricky parts but yeah… it’s not my dream job, but definitely a low barrier to entry!

Is it just me or is the audio in this super low

My biggest struggle has been the barriers to entry to work with bigger brands, i don’t even know who to email or get in contact with. All the information needed to even pitch myself is unattainable on the internet (for good reason) my question is how do we as photographers land these jobs ? Obviously the answer is having a connection but realistically thats not the case for most trying to break into the industry

I’m sure you’ve thought of this but I would probably suggest doing some spec ads? Showing them your vision with their brand, and then tagging their socials, reaching out that way. A lot of social media accounts are run by agencies that do that for multiple brands, which may not get your work in front of the decision maker, but might get you some traction?
