I think we can all agree that if Gohan had been allowed to train throughout most of his life, he seriously would've been one of the strongest beings in existence. Gohan had the most potential out of any character, and his hidden power was foreshadowed for years. When his power finally surfaced against Cell, he surpassed EVERYONE at that point. It really sucks to see where his character is at now, but I did enjoy him coming back and owning Super Buu for a short time though. Regardless, Gohan is still one of my favorite DBZ characters of all time. Now, forever and always.
Maybe Gohan is the representation of wasted potential, a warning to everyone. Don´t waste your potential doing useless things that you don´t like. If you like to paint and is very good at it but your parents want you to be a doctor, don´t listen to them! Develop your potential if you can.

No, Gohan was still stronger, the reason it was so hard for Gohan was because his arm was "out of commission." Otherwise, it would have been just a harder fight to finish, but only barely. As you can hear in the english dub, Gohan says "My power has been cut in half." So that, with the fact he beat Cell in the kamehameha battle, proves that Gohan was originally stronger before he got his arm shot.

When a warrior has lost all hope and the only force driving him forward is his burning rage, this is the theme that plays in the back of his mind. I know because it's what happens to me in this hopeless world we live in today.
I like how there's a somber tone throughout this. The guitars, symbolizing his rage ebb and flow, slowly bubbling over, but that base tone never leaves. It's a sorrowful sort of anger, very fitting. This composer was a genius.

The problem with people wanting Gohan to be like Teen Gohan was, is that TG is not what Gohan is. Gohan is a coward, a loser, a nerd, weak. While he was incredibly strong in the Cell Saga, he only became stronger because the world needed it. Gohan is like the anti-DBZ character, he despises fighting and hates all martial arts in general. He didn't want to be his father, he didn't want to be strong. It was only after Ressurection F that he realised that he was completely outgunned by Frieza. People want Gohan to be what Goku was, strong, badass, able to defend the earth. But that's not what Gohan wants, Gohan wants to have a relaxing life with his wife and daughter, but because of who he's surrounded by it was expected of him to become as strong as his father. Gohan, to me, isn't a sign of wasted potential. Gohan is a sign of "You are not held down by the circumstances of your birth." He was the character with the most potential in terms of fighting, but he didn't want that. So he chose a different path. Why can people not accept Gohan choosing a different path to Goku?

I’m so glad we grew up with this dub and this soundtrack. No other DBZ soundtrack properly captured emotion or intensity like the Faulconer team did, or rarely did so at best.
What I love about Super Saiyan 2 is that nobody on the battlefield realized what he became at that moment, including himself. They all thought he had just "figured out the ascended form of a super saiyan correctly". But it was far more than that. Far, far more.
This proves the power of nostalgia. This is the score I heard the first time I watched DBZ; so to me it is perfect. To someone who saw DBZ in the original Japanese; Unmei No Hi is perfect. Such good music.
