I think this was the first time we heard J-hope with an autotune mic and it was kinda fun bc his rap is so melodic so it added some fun effects. He did say it felt weird so probably won't be using it in the future 😄

You should check out one of J-Hope's performances from Lollapalooza! I highly suggest his Arson performance, or Hangsang! They're available on the BangtanTV channel 🙂It's actually insane that he performed for almost an hour and twenty minutes by himself, without ever losing energy, and only taking one 5 minute break (outside of speaking to the crowd very shortly) for an outfit change!

Our Hobi is great haha. But honestly they're all so amazing. It's hard to have a bias when they could all be your favorite artist if they were solo performers since they're each so uniquely talented and just great people.

Their performance is sooo good, I was so hype out when during the Busan concert and I watched it online. I cannot imagine how intense the actual live was. They really killing the performance!! The BTS rap line is awesome, crazy talented, super hard working and highly involved with their craft.

A great thing about them performing cypher 3 and screaming "you cant control my shit" is that this concert was SUPPOSED to be the deciding factor that the government would use to see if BTS would be exempt from the mandatory military service which the gov spent YEARS going back and forth. But RIGHT after this concert, they sent out an announcement saying the boys have decided to participate in their military duties.

Agreed. I don’t mind hearing about the Hand off either. Even better he points out things that I didn’t notice about the changes in beats preparing for another stage in the music but it’s the kind of things that make the songs so great.
what i really like about the end of yoongis verse is that it usually ends with him saying “chop chop chop” but instead he just did the motions and the drummer came in to do it and it just added this extra satisfying feel to the ear? like i don’t know how to explain. this performance was amazing.

FUN FACT: they change some of their lyrics for that concert only, esp JHOPE & that's an example that when you really make your own song & lyrics you can play w/ it & change it whenever or however you want.
I was there. I never listened to rap before I began following BTS, and I was always drawn to more melancholy and muted songs too. The guys had already managed to make me listen to rap (only theirs, funnily enough I still don't enjoy it as a genre), but I did not understand quite how powerful these songs are until I saw them performed live. When the Ugh and Cypher segment started, you could literally feel the energy coursing from the stage into the stadium. It was electrifying and those two songs remain some of my best memories of the Busan concert (and of my life, really). I am a rap line convert forever.

I really love your reactions, especially when you do BTS. And their rapline, hands down is one of the best in the game. Without a doubt! They feed off of one another so well when they are performing. The rapline always kills, simple as that. Jhope just released a album "Jack In The Box," earlier this year. And RM is going to be releasing his really, really soon. Can't wait for this weekend, Jhope will be performing at the MAMA Awards. Where he is the top most nominated Artist, for his stuff with BTS, his solo stuff and a collab he did with Crush!

The Busan concert had to be difficult for them. They knew this was the last performance together for a long time. They had to break for military service. We are proud of them but needless to say it was a knife to the heart for a lot of Army who watch them daily and love and worry about them. We knew it was coming BUT what a surprise. So they knew this was it we didn’t. The look on their faces at times looking out at audience is sad. Not knowing when or even if they will be back.

Yeah, a VERY intense song. But this performance they put even more into because they already announced that it would be their last time doing it live. Talk about Yoongi being a hype man. I was blessed to see both his shows in Oakland! I can honestly say Two of the BEST shows I've ever seen. And I've seen BTS.

The rap line started in underground and was teased and talked about so bad for signing with a K-pop label. They felt like they dissed the rap underground world for K-pop! This is our rap line clapping back at the haters. They are still underground while our boys are on top of the world!

FUN FACT: recently, BTS got 3 nominations for Best Pop Duo/Group Performace with Coldplay (My Universe), Best Music Video (Yet To Come), and Album of the Year (credited also for ‘Music of the Spheres’ by Coldplay). They are officially a 5-time Grammy nominees. As songwriters, the rapline got their noms this year individually 😭😭

So I will admit that I watch *way* too many reaction videos (they're my happy place, seeing people get blindsided by and fall in love w/ BTS in the same way I did), but yours are my favorite. Ever since your first shocked reaction during "Tear" BEFORE THE BOYS EVEN STARTED RAPPING, I've been hooked on your visceral reactions. I also appreciate how you break things down about live performing from a pro's perspective, it's really cool. They went SO HARD for this. It was literally the last time they will ever perform this Cypher. They told us they have now retired this as a live performance.
JHope was a dancer. Self-taught. He then taught himself to rap. JK raps with all three styles because he grew up listening to them. He wanted to be a dancer. Jimin and JHope taught him alot about dance and singing too. None of them came into BTS in for they roles they played now. That is the miracle of it all. If JK didn't stop JHOPE from quitting, Jin stopped Jk from leaving, and so on, BTS would have never happened.
J Hope started taking dance lessons at age 10 but he's self taught when it come's to Rap. He listened to the RM, Suga and the other rappers that were at BigHit before the vocalist joined them. J Hope left but came back because the other's didn't want him to leave and JK cried and he said he trusted them.
@eileencritchley4630 JHope taught himself the hip hop and pop and lock dancing. He had instruction like Jimin but Jimin is a perfectionist and hates to be outside his comfort zone like in the last Three Js dance. He made them do it over and over. JHope is an awesome talent and definitely has his finger on the pulse of BTS' emotions. The one who thought he was ugly steals the show so often. I love it. Each member is special to me.
@@lisamonteleone13 He was winning dance competitions before he was even part of BTS for his Hip Hop dancing he was taking part of a street dance crew as the youngest member at age 10years. So yeah he knew what he was doing before he joined BTS and that's why he's the Dance Leader.
I LOVE all 7 members of BTS but J-Hope and RM are special to me! You gotta check out there solo work. J-Hope had his solo album come out earlier this year, you need to listen to at least the songs More and Arson. So damn good!!

I have been enjoying your reactions to BTS. It always seems so much more meaningful coming from a musician who understands the stage. I ALWAYS find their live performances to be even better than their studio work. BTS took a lot of flack…especially in their early days. They came from a small agency whereas most successful artists in Korea came from one of 3 big agencies. They wrote and produced their own music (not always the case in the idol industry). Early in their careers (while they were still teens), RM and Suga were invited to a Hip Hop round table discussion. What it turned into was the other rappers at the event (mostly a guy named B-Free) ridiculing them, telling them they sold out for moving from underground rap to the idol system and calling them girls for wearing makeup onstage. It was a humiliating experience and not at all what they were expecting….they were blindsided. Basically RM and Suga sat there and took their criticism gracefully, tried to respectfully explain their position, then went home and put pen to paper to express their rage. So…thank you B-Free for helping to give us these masterpieces..lol. Sorry for the long rant..thanks for reacting.

i would absolutely LOVE for you to react to BTS Room Live for their 2021 Festa! that video gives a really good overview over their music as they perform a whole bunch of songs (or parts of songs) from their debut until now - all bsides though. it shows a good mixture of the rap line, the vocal line and all of them together. i think you would really enjoy it (we armys will most definitely like it lol)! AND it has subtitles for all the songs which is always a plus (don’t forget to turn them on).

2:21 rm is actually the full group's leader, alomg side being the main rapper, suga is also a main rapper, and jjope actually came from a dance root and learned to rap alongside both suga and rm and he found his own style 💜
Also, almost all of them are lyricists and producers ( talking about the whole group)
But yes a lot of the lyrics and producrion work is done by the rap line with more company producers.
