    Thanks for the upload, Been looking at ways to make one for a both my 6" offset & 8" mill vice and this was def a good overview on your project not to mention few cool tools added to the dream box :) if i ever get back to work again lol.
    Strange how in life we can have health issues or such that take us out of the game and make us broke you feel there is no coming back but we will still enjoy those few moments in the workshop and watching videos like this that remind us to keep trying :)

    IIRC starting the cutting torch right on the intended cut line creates a hole, 1/2 of which remains in the work (one of your tabs had that sort of notch?). If you start enough off the line in the waste for the burn thru (farther off line for thicker material cuz longer burn thru), then progress the pass in a short radius onto the work you should get a cleaner start/stop. I'll definitely try those abrasives. Sweet build, looking forward to the finish vid.

  • @i_might_be_lying
    @i_might_be_lying Před 3 lety +3

    Cool project! If your torchmate software has overcut function, you might want to use it to get rid of those little tabs that hold inner parts from falling through. As an example, if you set overcut to 5mm on a hole, the torch will go extra 5mm past the cut beginning, preventing those tabs from forming.

    • @MakeEverything
      @MakeEverything  Před 3 lety

      Thanks for the tip! Great idea! Usually I work with much thinner material and haven’t had any issue but I’ll keep that in mind for the thick stuff! Appreciate it
