From going underway to another country at sea, to pulling lines, getting the ship into port, standing 12 hours ship watch with 2 hours and a half of sleep for half a month at sea. Yeah not fun. But if you wanna talk about sitting around doing nothing, then I can guarantee you, that's definitely the reservist.

I was afraid that was going to be stupid. Some of our ads haven't been great recently, but that ended up being pretty awesome. It's just missing the part where we actually say "The Few. The Proud. The Marines." Never change that bit and we're good.

Drones have been a killer in Ukraine. Literally enemy spotting, artillery correction oversight, and even dropping motar and gernade rounds. Drones are a force multiplier.

We are glad you are joining us. As nothing is perfect, keep your mind focused on solutions and winning. Many join with high hopes, don’t get their desired MOS, or their desired MOS was not what they thought. I will say this: grow where you are planted. From PVT and on, you have influence and you’re words and actions WILL impact others. Make them count no matter where you find yourself. Most importantly don’t forget the why. We may not be engaged in widespread conflict but it’s coming and you don’t want to be the apathetic Marine that just whines all the time and isn’t a model to follow when things do become “for real”. By then it’s “grab your kit and let’s go”.

@@JerryDaBes Depends on what part of the base you're on. I was in the Shinka squad bays so those were pretty bad. Gotemba is the city just outside Camp Fuji and that place is awesome, however expect some of the locals to do the no Gaijin cross at you, especially the taxi drivers. The Outlet mall out there is a big Hotspot and so are the food attractions, namely GKB Brewery where the have a dinning hall with art decor statues and beautiful lighting. They also have big delicious steaks and alcohol.
If you get a 96 or a 72, Tokyo isn't too far from Camp Fuji so that's an option too. Just avoid being caught in the Redlight district by your chain of command and don't get scammed there. I forgot what the place was called but I'm sure your chain of command will tell you when they're threatening you not to go there.

Great recruiting pitch! The best I have ever seen. This reminds us why after 247 years the USMC is still the premier fighting outfit it was in the beginning. Johnny-come-latelies like SF, Rangers, and Seals have a long way to go to rack up a rep like The Corps has. I have not been on active duty for a long time. But at 70 years, I am still as much a Marine as I was when I was 18. Semper Fi to my beloved Corps!

Other than the small group of Rangers raised by Major Robert Rogers during the French & Indian War, the Rangers came into being due to the efforts of Major William O. Darby in 1942. Rogers' Rangers were disbanded after their war and the Continental Army did not see a reason to reconstitute them for the revolution. So the rangers are a relatively new organization. Prior to the formation of Rogers' Rangers in our country, "rangers" were actually gamekeepers in Europe.

I think it’s a great and modern commercial geared towards the Call of Duty and Battlefield player kids who’d fall for it. My dad retired as Major and I wanted to join in my high school years, however I could never stand people raising their voice on me, so I just opened my own business and very happy with it. To each it’s own, somebody has to serve and I respect that!
