Hi, thanks for useful video, I succesful changed damaged display ribbon cable on my A7. One tip - the ribbon cable ports have a lock bank for the flat cable, it is the small black or brown strip on rear of the port. It can be levered up with fingernail or one tool and then the cable can be insert or pull out with easy into/from the port and after inserting the locker must be levered down to secure and for good contact.

replacing the screen only was as simple as getting the 2 mount screws on the bezel out and the 2 screws on the back of the panel. Take off bezel, pry out the two ribbon cables, insert new screen and two ribbon cables and put it back together again. It is not neccessary to dissassemble half the camera if you are only switching out the screen.

Wouldn't it be very hard to attach the ribbon cable that connects the display from the camera because it's too short? I think this step is where a lot of people break this ribbon cable.

@@ShutterKnack It is totally unnecessary to do that, if you already took the time to carefully take it apart it would be much simpler and straightforward to do it the way I described. Taking apart the entire camera only invites in more problems that could happen along the way, dust being the main enemy of all things electronic, the more you open something up the more can get into it. The solution always works like this; the less components you need to take off, the less can go wrong. Also what can go wrong will go wrong the more moves you have to make to get to the solution. Always take off less, if possible. Always.
Get a good pair of tweezers, made for this job and presto, it makes for an easy re-attaching of the cable. Might take some extra time but not nearly as much as taking the camera apart the way the uploader did...
      Hope that helps.

@@kraftthecreator Would not talk about it if I did not know how to do it. I fave the instructions to do so, so I know from experience, read my second comment for more details. Thank you for your concern.

Question… what is the best adhesive to reapply? Would e6000 be a good idea?

Hi. Why did you replace the LCD, what was the fault? The display on my A7sIII stopped working, it's just dead, no light, no image. Viewfinder and video signal via hdmi on an external monitor work normally. Any thoughts? Would you suspect a bad display or a worn cable or are there any chances to have something even worse like some bad part on the board?

I think I did some internal damage to it pushing it too hard. Sounds like you could either have a loose cable or a bad display.

it bothers me that you don't release the ribbon clamp clips when removing and reinstalling the screen. rather you force the cable into it.

I have a weird red blotch on my display, but it only appears when the background is black. What is this?
