You can play unranked historic by clicking on play and then choosing “all” instead of standard decks. Choosing a historic deck will put you into unranked historic play.
WOW i did not know this LOL. I have been playing my janky 150 card 4c thousand year storm deck in ranked historic and didn't know how to play unranked LOL

Joey! Love this! This deck reminds me so much of my Ezuri Elf Tribal Commander Deck. That deck has all of these except Craterhoof. The mana ramp and elf pump is sick, I just sling already boosted elves triple pumped to +9/+9 and trample. Love it.
I started playing MTG Arena one week ago, and I just created a version of your deck. I took out two Viviens and put in two The Mending of Dominaria for mill protection. I just hit diamond earlier tonight. Thanks for the video bro. I have been learning a lot from you. Keep it going, man.

@@BrettMathe The Clancaller was a 1/1 that gave all the other elves +1/+1. When the Chainwhirler dealt one damage to every creature, all the 2/2 elves went to 2/1 and the Clancaller died. When Clancaller left the battlefield all the 2/1s then dropped to 1/0 and also died.
Edit, I have no idea why it wiped his board the second time it came out... Deathtouch maybe? Wtf
@@bldrummer8287 Yes it was deathtouch the second time. Call of the death-dweller gives a deathtouch and menace counter.

Love the excitement, thanks for showing off some of the new cards. Also they do have non ranked play for Historic, just pick a historic deck in the regular play queue.
Makes me sad this deck isn't budget. The Shepard alone is $65 per copy. I'd love one for my elf deck. Green was my first color and is still my favorite to this day.

I love running elves! Used to run them during the new phyrexian block at my lgs. This deck brought back great memories of swinging for 100+ trample/infect!!! Sweeeeeeeeeet vid!!!!
The game you had that ended at 18:00, that even though you won anyway, you still had lethal if you casted the choof instead of the sylvan ranger. They were tapped out and could've blocked 2 damage of it. It would've been like 28 damage. But it didn't matter anyway.

That last green stompy iteration is doing work in ranked, made a few adjustments ie leaving out the garruks greathorn. Gotten up to diamond with it.
Elder Gargaroth instead of Garruks Greathorn is a perfect upgrade.

I think you missed lethal at 16:21 you would have done a total of 28 trample damage and he only had a 2/2 to block with.

Mr. Moss, you mentioned early in the video about about Elves and Green being one of the first decks you built and was awful, but I just wanted to say 3 years ago I found your Modern Budget Elves with the secret Infect pumps in the deck, I took it to my first Modern event and got 4th Place. I've since upgraded the deck over the years and eventually won 1st Place in a Modern Event with the Elves Deck. You are a big inspiration and I hope you keep being able to inspire others as much as you did to me 3 years ago. Thank you sir, and this video was entertaining to watch Elves still being awesome. Beast Whisperer in this deck would be great card draw, or Jadelight Ranger to filter through the deck better. Henge in place of a couple Viviens, maybe?

Nice video bud!! Elvish stompy was my first deck 15 years, when I started and its still my favourite. I was wondering... why not replace 2X Vivien with 2X Growing Rites of Itlimoc? It digs your library, you can easily filp it and it becomes gaea's cradle!! it also produces mana when there are no creatures into play which can sometimes be super useful

Just pulled an allosaurus shepherd from a jumpstart 4 pack, went straight to Joey moss to see what builds work well around it. This deck is insane!
Why not drop the sylvan ranger when mana screwed?? Even choosing the visionary over it in the hopes of drawing land when both were in hand....

Joey Moss : 1) Sorry about the Browns dude. Not sure Mayfield is the guy. 2) Have you thought about the 2 Mana 3/ 3 Elf with Deathtouch? Only downside is revealing another card in your hand.
Not trying to be mean but can Joey not do math sometimes at the 16:20 ish mark. He's saying craterbound. Isn't enough to kill him that turn. It has haste with +x/+x and trample to everything. The total damage if he plays it is 28 with trample with the only blocker being a 2/2 with the opponent having 20 health. He wins that turn instead of spending over a minute saying it's not enough damage

There are SO many cards that need reach. Nylea and Oketra don't have reach, and they both have bows the sizes of buildings. It's especially ridiculous because Oketra has been portrayed on the art of other cards shooting winged animals out of the sky.

Joey try using the elemental ashaya, in your elf Deak see if you like it it should speed up what your trying to achieve also Nyxbloom Ancient and chromatic orrery it tapping for 15 mana with nyxbloom out
I’ve been playing historic pirates and it hasn’t struggled as much as I thought it would. Like it matches well against goblins game 2 and then goblins I can get just as bulky as them thanks to the new lord and icon of ancestry

Decorated Champion, Lys Alana Huntmaster, Beast whisperer, Wildborn Preserver, Thor Lieutenant, Llanowar Elves, Elvish Vanguard, Dwynen, Gilt-Leaf Daen, Hunting Triad, Bioshift, Thornweald Archer, Blanchwood armor, Overcome. I will be happy, if you try this :)
on the last game you would have been better off by doing turn 1 lanowar and turn 2 sylvan ranger and then the lanowar after getting the guaranteed land drop

Yeah i'd trade the 4 copys of visionary for 4 beast whisperer. Ir 2 beast + 2 of that green artifact. I think It synergizes well with the deck and canmake It hella explosive

Got to platinum 4 with a modest variant of this deck.
Honestly, I think elves is the new mono-red of historic and we’re all gonna get tired of it real quick
not knocking your list by any means but i helped build the original elf ball deck way back when AIM was a thing and Lowryn first dropped and dropping regal force on turn 4 was a thing....I know,,,, i'm 40 and old now but whisper is a huge must for the deck. you can drop it turn 3 and still have some dudes to drop and keep going.... at worst it helps draw threw the lands.... just some old school advice.....
i only have 2 shepherd and 3 ranger but also dropped the vivs....and add the imperfects and 4 beast whisperer and running 1 more caterhoof and 2 leyline of abundance.... and i dropped 1 maryyn since she is lengenday.... just my views on the deck and subs until i get the last ranger and last 2 shepherds

Is beast whisperer in historic? I would go down two marwyn and up to beast whisperer if possible, maybe steel leaf champion....4 marwyn seems like two too many IMO

I play elfball with Akroma's Memorial finisher. Red and black just flips over with it
Do you wait a turn after you get all your Elvess out? I play an elfball but with craterhoof and Throne of the God Pharaoh for finishers. My elves are usually all tapped out.
I play the memorial the same turn I cast it. I swing with every available untapped elf on my field.
@@28KillsL8r Having Elvish Archdruid on the battlefield means less elves tapped for mana and more elves attacking (and untapped) for the Memorial finish

I don't really get why the chainwhirler kills all 2/2 in 35:30 . Can someone explain please?
I think because Elvish Clancaller gives each elf +1/+1 and once it dies the other elves are 1/1 so they die too. The second wipe was because it then had deathtouch when it was brought back.
I dont get why the chainwhirler delt 3 damage to everything instead of 1 at 39:43 ? Can someone explain?
Chainwhirler was given deathtouch by the resurrection spell, thus killing everything with only one damage.
