A couple of things: the stars are over sharpened in the video (I wasn't paying attention to them too much when making the video), but you can (probably) get rid of that in two ways:
1) changing the PSF (lower PSFs are less aggressive)
2) changing the aggression slider (lower aggression will help mitigate this too)

you need a star deringing tool as there is very obvious ringing round the stars, loved the intro!!!
I agree. The star ringing has been a problem since the beginning. The workaround right now is to be less aggressive with either the psf or the agrro slider. Based on my testing, I was able to reduce the ringing that way.
Nice work! Shall download the new version. I tried your last version on the weekend on M83.sharpened the whole image up fairly well and the stars looked pretty good. No big black rings!...👍🏻

Very cool. I was or am planning to do a denoise AI by myself. In currently deep diving into AI. Did you use autoencoders for denoising?
Good question! I don't. It's a fairly simple feedforward model that evaluates surrounding pixels to adjust the brightness of one pixel at a time.

I'm having trouble running the AstroSharp software. It will open from the .exe file but the window is just blank and there is nothing there. The .vbs file does nothing at all after I give windows permission to run it. Help please.
For the .vbs file, do you have chrome installed? If so, do you know the installation folder?
For the .exe file, sometimes you need to close it and restart the program (some people need to do it a couple times).
Very cool! At what point in the workflow do you recommend running the application?
So the images have to be stretched. I would run the sharpening after stretching and background extraction, and denoising would be pretty much the last step you do.

@@magmus I think you can probably get away with recomposing the starless image and then doing the denoise. But, it's worth experimenting with!
With the sharpening though, some people have better luck sharpening just the starless image to make sure there aren't dark halos around the stars. But the aggressiveness slider should help get rid of that too. I think it is a matter of trial and error!.

Do I need to uninstall the previous version or is it OK to just download and install this newest one?
You can just delete the old folder of the old version and download the new one.
Thanks: it worked well on a large image (3 by 2 panels, about 9000 by 6000 pixels) usin ELECTRON. In the pre/post windows the image appeared flipped horizontally, but the saved file was OK.

Can it be run on starless images? I see it left dark halos around the stars.
Yes it can. I was a bit aggressive with the sharpening in the video (100% aggressiveness). You can either choose a lower PSF value or lower the aggressiveness to get rid of the halos (based on my testing anyway).

The first versions could only do black and white, and apparently I haven't changed the language on the GitHub page yet! Oops!

Does the interface itself load? Can you click the upload image button? Or does the application just show a loading circle?

Hi, Is the Hybrid mode deprecated in the last version? I downloaded it and the hybrid mode shows an error message, thanks for this great tool!
What does the error message say. I think it should still work, but maybe something got messed up in the update. Thanks!
@@deepskydetail rest modes works ok and show the processed preview on the right side when I push the update sliders, but Hybrid mode not do process and not show any preview, only a red color message "Error:'x' must be numeric"
