  • The Marvels is Brie Larsons latest MCU movie from Disney Marvel. Disney has had a string of movies that didn't perform up to expectations, can Captain Marvel, Monica Rambeau and Ms Marvel turn that around? Now even Variety has seen that Disney is under pressure, forcing new marketing based around Cat live Streams on Marvel entertainment. But can a The Marvels Cat Cafe bring people back to watch Brie Larsons return? Is The Marvels worth watching?

The Marvels gave an unexpected reason for a video that for once didn't come from a Brie Larson Interview. When I saw the MCU was getting marketed via Cat Cafe Live streams, how could I not make a video for that! The new Disney Marvel is a wonder to behold that knows it's audience only by what the staff want themselves, and they love cats! We had everything from cat dancing, laser shows, weird Funko Pop harrassment and cat ASMR. The 8 hour live stream came at the same time Variety decided it was ok to criticise Disney Marvel, but NEVER comment about the individuals to blame. How this industry will fix itself without actually individuals taking responsibility for their own creations, I don't know. But maybe eventually the media might catch up. What do you think? Let me know your thoughts down below and as always thanks for watching :)

The industry will _NEVER_ fix itself, because its financial incentive to do wokeness is far greater than the leverage its customers have with their ability to not buy their products.
In short, the financial world has been taken over by wokies who enforce their ideology by making woke messaging a fundamental requirement for getting short-term loans, by means of the dreaded ESG score. Short-term loans are absolutely essential to the running of basically all business in the modern economy, so every company has to abide by the financial world's rules to survive or they'd die due to financial asphyxiation. Even if you replaced all the soyjacks at Disney with good child-bearing conservatives, they would have to play by exactly the same rules and would have to spout exactly the same NPC dialogue.
If Marvel produces bad product, it will lose customers and start declining, with death being maybe a decade away.
If Marvel tells the wokies to go to hell, it will lose loans and die in the space of a week due to lack of loan money.
Marvel has only two theoretical chances to avoid death: wait until the soyjacks get kicked out of the financial world and woke ideology is dropped as a condition for getting loans, or embrace the soyjacks' program of soyifing the global culture through mass indoctrination and pray that the next generation of 100% soyified customers will like the woke product that's being produced.

That "Wrinkle in Time" quote always pisses me off. That was my favorite book as a kid. I read it many, many times. I wrote Madeleine L'Engel back when I was in school. You know that old school assignment, "write your favorite author" which we all had to do back then . . . I still have her reply in the original envelope. I'm very qualified to tell Brie what didn't work about that godawful re-imagining. It's worth noting that the movie wasn't excreted from the bowels of Disney until after L'Engle had died. Typical pillaging of an IP by a greedy estate.

Marvel comics have often used politics in their stories. What the hell are you talking about? Also they need to optimize the stories to fit current affairs because that's who the general audience will identify with. Most people did not actually read the comics. When was the last time you read a captain marvel comic? That character herself was not a high selling comic so they can and should make all the needed changes. Secondly these videos are trashing the movie and its supposed financial loss before the movie is even out. How does that make any sense? You need at least 3 weeks of a movie being released to assess its financial success or loss. @kngt_ldr9853

It's not just Hollywood that's failing. Went to a Top-25 school, at the time. We, students, would pack out 3-full movie theaters, for our end-of-semester movies, at a large movie theater chain. We had a whole wing of the theater, just because of the amount of people. At the end, the bar next door would be packed for hours: multiple bartenders slinging drinks, nuts-2-butts, everyone shoulder to shoulder, they would stop selling drinks and allow us to stay because there were just so many people. We were respectful, but it was like a Black Friday for that bar, they got slammed every year while I was there, shit tons of money.
Then the school turned woke, teachers were being let go, and other teachers started commenting on students during class. Next, I left, I simply had enough and blocked every single one of them on social media.
3 years later, the school sent an email out that the Dean was leaving. I saw his first day, so I wanted to pay my respects and go to the end-of-semester movies.
They didn't even fill 1 theater, half the seats were empty, the hallways were empty, the same teachers still there looked like grizzled war veterans, barely any clapping or celebration, and the Dean had like 10-15 people send in videos that were shown-most were from the same teachers still working there. I won't comment on the quality of the movies because they're still students, but I'm sure you can guess the content of the movies. The same bar barely had 60 people, with empty tables scattered throughout. It was a sad, dilapidated event all around. Plus, the school isn't even in the Top 25 anymore. Guess what? No one took/takes responsibility.

I am a Peruvian architect but strongly doubt about your statement: only blueprints, 2D technical drawings, are used to build, those are the legal documents, the 3D views are not subject to litigation because they are only there to show a reference to the customers so an architect blaming the visualizer is just legally impossible. And even if visualizations were used as building documents (which they are not, builders require specifications with measurements, not 3D views except as reference or companion for some complicated shape) the architect is still the responsible of the design.
Is true that many architects fall into the trap of not designing with a vision in mind but letting the software rule the design with what the software is programmed to do, instead of using it to represent faster a design from their minds; it shows in the obvious additions and subtractions of volumes, if you think that is "good design" it means you really don't know that one thing is 3D visualization, and other the reality of what is built. Architecture is about creating spaces for human beings in which they can develop determined functions, only if the architectural space fulfills its function or intended use in a humane and comfortable way then you can call it good design. I understand, stretching the imagination because I doubt you have experience building, that if you change the visual aspect and maybe correct proportions (which is not that different from a traditional office in the past in which an architect running an office gave to a junior architect a hand drawn esquisse that has to be correctly drawn) you can have credits as contributor; but to think that by doing that is automatically "good design" only because it is in 3D is not how architecture works, I don't care if they get awards, as awards are mostly given between friends anyway. I don't use 3D because honestly it just distracts from the design, it seldom looks how it will be seen the real building to the eyes, I use it more like an aid to the design rather than thinking in it as the design.

You're probably right, but I came across an interesting article regarding KDP starting a beta program to use synthetic audio narration and in it, they said only 4% of books published through KDP have an audiobook. Audiobooks are a form of content I regularly consume and yet just through Amazon alone, there are a plethora of stories I will never come across because it isn't in my preferred format. The same could be said for light novels in Japan and Korea that might not get picked up to be made into manga or anime. There's a sea of content, and not all of it good mind you, that we won't experience because it isn't in the right format and it hasn't gotten a push into the mainstream. Finding those diamonds lost in the information oceans of the internet is what I hope AI will one day bring us.

You are also forgetting, most people didn't read the comics and the general audience whom these movies are actually made for are being exposed to these characters for the first time. They dont need to worry about the die hards, because ultimately they are not the majority. So your rant is redundant. Dude even Ironman was not a highly sold comic, hell most of the characters were not selling in the stores until the MCU. Thats literally what saved the company because people stopped reading comics in the first place. Yes they swapped a few races, who cares? Most people didn't even know that because they never read the books.

I can bet you that if someone were to make a student film version of “The Marvels” and use rag dolls for action scenes, it be not only much better written but all around better then what Disney/Marvel have put out in years

Looking at the pattern of pre-sold tickets for the whole opening weekend (at least around here) what I see is that there IS a fairly small audience for this movie, that audience will see the movie on the opening DAY, and then the attendance will just fall off the cliff... That's my prediction :)
It is hilarious to see a seating map of a large IMAX auditorium with ONE sold seat, right in the middle :)

They totally ignored the audience screaming for them to STOP, for them to return to recognisable superheroes, for them to actually make something people wanted to watch.
But NO! They chose to accuse, label and dismiss those that were still invested, until NO-ONE was...

The worst thing has happened to. the MCU: apathy. People are so tired of the same song and dance with Disney and now people just don't care and while it's possible to win some people back, the majority are just gone now and they only have themselves to blame.

@@ohnosmoarlulcatz usually I'd agree with you especially the more anodyne late night shows. But that's not really how Craig ran his show. He didn't care for the promotion of whatever the guest was selling. He'd give them like 25-30 seconds towards the end, but for the most part it was just him riffing with the guest about anything he found amusing or interesting.

You make a very good point about these cork sniffing weirdos. Art is 100% value based. As a musician i love to perform my own songs - BUT, i have criteria around which fit the energy of the set and intersperse them with highly recognisable songs that i cover in my own arrangements.
It’s not because. I LOVE playing billie jean for the 1000th time.
It’s because when i perform it for the audience people go quiet at certain parts, or sing along in the chorus.
It’s entertainment and audience connection first. I work hard to make sure people are SUPER engaged with my performance.
Which sometimes results in free drinks when they come up after 🙃
If i only played the songs i liked, with the things that mean something to me… i’s become the background music.

Its not always the script that is the problem its the amusing part that "Reimagined" has made its way into logical good movies as we know its rare to find something after 2015 thats good because of the management chaning the scripts. Its more about conditioning your customers to just say this is how it is this crap is just what we have.

But when I first saw the trailer I was surprised not to see a man as the main antagonist (Although I have no doubt the men in it will all be pathetic dweebs). Then I had a thought. I bet by the end of the movie, the Darr-Benn character will end up helping the Marvels against a male foe, or will survive having been turned to the good side! 🙄🤣

Rewatching some of the old stuff, you can tell that the new blood doesn't have ambition to learn the ropes
All that was building up to the avengers saga was a learning curve. There are entries that were pretty bad, even for what they were in it to accomplish. What made the avengers great is that each cog was gearing toward something. And you can feel the growth between characters as it went toward their last stand
Which is why it surprised me to see Johanasson complain about the tone. She was eating good off these franchises only too look so out of touch with her own role
You don't want these products to fail, but again, you can't use what you don't know you have. With this new wave, everything has been given to them, what's left to earn? People like Brie, its just too much pressure so they go insane trying to downplay the affect. Let it mold you, damn

When writing, the writer must immerse themselves in the universe of what they are writing about. 🪐 A good writer who is a ninety year old man, 👨🏻‍🦳can successfully write a story about a six year old girl. 👧🏼
What is bad, is when the writer molds the universe of what they’re writing to their personal beliefs. 😑
Plus it seems there are no checks and balances, like when the actress suggests eliminating a major character like Prince Charming, and the director saying, “Okay, sure.”..🤷🏻‍♂️
