It was built by the Simpson Timber Co. Just around the corner was Fir Creek reload where logs were loaded--tracks beyond had long since been abandoned. It is one of the highest RR bridges in the country. The Simpson RR quit running a few years back--America's last logging RR!
It’s an amazing bridge. I wish something could be done to allow the public to legally visit and appreciate it in person. Thanks for the info 👍
I'd be scared shitless to walk across that. Nice view tho
+bud bundy I'd be lying if I said it was no big deal. Haha
Dang, would I LOVE to have that on my property!!!
That would be amazing
We were camping out there one night when were kids in the 80’s. It’s been a while. I hear it’s getting torn down now.
Is it really?! That’s a shame. I wish something could be done to allow people to visit it in a safe manner. It’s an impressive bridge to see in person.
Super dangerous, please don't try this! Railroad ties rotting!
Not just rotting, but completely missing as well.
