Im pretty familiar with both the Airsoft community and real firearms community. I appreciate the fact that you and many other people within the firearms/ armed prepared citizen community are taking a good look into what the airsoft side of the house has to offer. I believe most people in the firearms world look down upon airsofters. But airsofters can have something to bring to the table. We can’t forget that many Airsofters are out using their gear every weekend. Much more than most gun guys do if I’m being honest.
I feel like you are not including hunters in your equation. But yes we all have something to bring, and the main thing is we are getting out of the house and playing. ;)
The air-soft channels I watched were serious about their competition. Not so much that it wasn't enjoyable or sportsman like but the closest thing to real combat anyone cloud do without being in a war. These guys were out for the whole weekend living out of a pack eating freeze dried food sleeping in the woods (if they slept), so capture the flag games aren't dead yet just a little different.
I don't shit on airsoft, in the end its force on force training. Does it have its limitations, absolutely, but that doesn't mean there isn't training value there. Same is true with familiarity with gear. Most of the airsoft gear is similar or the same as the gear used by trigger pullers. I say that, having never even played airsoft, but I can see the the way dudes approach the sport and I know its inspiring younger generations into possibly joining the service, much the same way paintball did for me growing up.
Ironically, a lot of airsofters try their hardest to remain concealed in matches so seeing these folks make camo items is awesome. When I was in, we had the crappy UCP items for our ABU's and I found using some airsoft pouches that allowed more storage room etc. Worked out better than GI issued items. 😂 They held up good too.
Train as you fight I'd rather have an airsoft guy next to me in my squad than some type of fudd that stands still at flat range shooting standing still

Good looking gear! As a gear maker myself I would highly recommend that KMCS use small loops sewn into the inside seam of the pull loop around the pack. Maybe they do and you just didn't show them or use them. For a small pack like this one I'd use (4) loops, (2) on each side. With these loops you can 100% secure your pack cover to your pack. I use small bungees with metal hooks but in a pinch just use some 550. Nothing sucks worse then having to bust through thick brush for 500 yards and then hike out 1/4 mile only to realize you lost your pack cover. After learning this lesson I started sewing these tie-out loops into all my pack covers. No more wasting time backtracking looking for lost gear.
The quiet intro with the music was cool. Watching Brent0331 slowly get ready was scary cool.
Brent is a badass!
Honey! I thought you said you had cleaned up that pile of leaves!!
I tried.....but it kept moving!!
Good stuff ,Brent!
He put a lot of thought in his products, very cool.
The versatility of such gear can really make a difference on more than one occasion once you get the hang of it - it's really cool and Western militaries should pick at every advantage that may be worth it that they can get.
This is great stuff for hog/deer hunting
Awesome information and presentation. Thanks for the camo inspiration! I appreciate it.
Best mil channel for sure, congrats
"Whether you're infantry, designated marksman or a sniper" - I'm none of those things and I'm still gonna buy it. Deer won't know what him 'em !
awesome man
That’s some awsome camo, it works really good
looks pretty cool. your vids always makes me want to return to my gear (we call it "szpej" in polish military slang :D )
I learned a whole lot through KMCS's ghillie suit making videos. It's worth understanding that KM also does real field operations to test his gear, for example he did a video series about going to Africa and using his system to watch for poachers, so he's not just an airsoft dork. He's also done videos talking to guys in other countries about their suit systems, and at least one of those guys was a supplier for their military (I think it was a guy from norway). I think this guy makes a better product than Crye.
KMCS has a bunch of videos on DIYing systems if anyone wants a craft project. I'd definitely recommend using shoe goo and not hot glue.
As a tip, the absolute best material to add (besides living vegetation) is natural Raffia, the reason is because it absorbs moisture and will naturally match the moisture of your environment, but the long strands can be tied on and will last for years. It just looks like a pile of dead grass, cause it literally is just dead grass. You can dye raffia if you need, but using it in the field will cause it absorb the environment. You can spray everything down with fire resistant sprays too.
Here's a handy multi-tool with garden sheers built in, great for snipping live vegetation: www.amazon.com/Bibury-Gardening-Multitools-Stainless-Secateurs/dp/B07NW89MCP/
As for covering a rifle, a small handful of rubber bands in the right spot go a long way - just attach vegetation, if it rips off, no big deal. Use normal office style rubber bands, as it's good that they break rather than get snagged like a ranger band would. If you want something tougher, get a women's hair tie from the store.
You are spot on, I've started my own production for our Shituation needs here. Boonie hats galore. 10-4 on ShoeGoo and HotGlue. I use more HOtGlu than ShoeGoo like on guns and hats cause they don't crawl. That said I have developed my own techniques for painting guns and all. Always in the shop never in the woods, always a stencil after the base coat. When done coat all with sawdust and dirt and hand rub down, Nothing shines on my work. Keep Rucking. GP
Never realized how well camo works until I saw your videos with a trained person that understands how to use it properly. Well there was an occasion when I took my boy out to see wildlife (scout for hunting) and an Army Colonel, who frequently did nature walks there, walked up on me from a depression (small valley) and startled me. He didn't mean to I think he seen me with my boy and wanted to help out so the kids dumb dad wasn't sitting in a bunch of apple trees at eye level right where the Deer would be looking. (plus sent). I should have stuck around but was getting anxious to get going, so being young I probably missed out on a golden opportunity of meeting a cool person. He liked to shoot the ground hogs for the Orchard. That full Ghillie suit makes it really tough to see you moving and the Cobra Hood does enough that if crouched down or prone you'd never pick up your silhouette. Nice video Brent! Like you said it still maters but Thermal imaging scopes really make life scary for anyone who needs to stay concealed, just the IR stuff picks up things an average guy wouldn't believe.
Brent, you've inspired me over the years and I learnt a lot from you. Been watching your videos for well over a decade, thank you for all the content, and thanks for taking the time to review the KMCS.

Pretty cool 😎
Always good stuff.
I dig the design of the system, very cool. Always leery of the quality of airsoft stuff but if it's holding up then that's all that matters.
The magazine pouches I used in Afghanistan were made by Condor, they lasted the whole deployment.
@@Brent0331 I used some Condor Pouches overseas too during my Contracting Deployments, those are very well made and mine held up too yeah (I wouldn't consider that Airsoft quality, moreso low-cost/ entry level area of professional tactical gear) :)

idk why. But Im pretty sure this guy has definitely NJP'd some specialist's before in the past. And made em do fitty pushups.
I have a similar suit. When donned and sitting on a stump in the fall woods the deer stand off looking possibly thinking WTF. Then go back to doing what deer do. Best
That is awesome plus up gear.
I love terrain like that
Nice review. There Is a old Natick document online from the '70s called "Design and Fabrication of a Textured Helmet Cover" when the army prototyped a pseudo 3d helmet cover for the M1 that went down to the top of the shoulders. I think that too would be a nice solution for a helmet, maybe Just cutting a larger piece of camo netting that goes down to the shoulders could help to break the neck/shoulder outline being even more compact than the cobra Hood (which Is a very useful product). I am trying to build One.
Thank you😺
Gotta get one.

excellent to see more people getting into ghillie mesh. Ive been suggesting it for years
My Adaptive Ghillie Mesh is not like normal mesh/tulle. It has a unique weave and yarn which is very hard to produce, unlike normal mesh and tulle it intensifies in colour when hit by sunlight, like natural vegetation.
super
Another guy out there that makes similar products is solaithe archive. His version of the cobra hood is features a detachable cape. He also makes 3d weapon and scope wraps, 3d helmet covers, as well as 3d pack covers. I have a fair few of his products, and they are of pretty decent quality
A fellow solaithe enjoyer in the wild, I’ve got a pack and helmet cover from him. Good products.

Looks great, Brent. Will you test its IR reflectivity under nods, please?
I've always configured sniper veils (looks like Brent is wearing one around his neck and tucked under shirt) to my needs (a pain in the ass at times) but I like the minimalism yet feature richness of this 'cobra hood'. Overall that's some well thought out camo!
I’m a sucker for cobra hoods
Nice
good stiff. I like it
The only thing was missing from cobra hood was veil.
This Cobra would be great for coyote hunting.
I think a better tactic would be wearing Civilian Clothing and then taking out the camo suit

Good luck getting that camo, real or reproduction, that doesn’t cost an arm and a leg.

As a hispanic: If you wanted to dress like a Mexican and attempt to camouflage yourself blending in with a Cinco De Mayo party, I would absolutely approve of you doing that.
Anyone know where and when the first use of Ghillie suits came about in combat or was it from the hunting side.
If I remember right their origin is in early Scottish game wardens that used them to track hunters.
The backpack straps take away from the cobra hood shape
Apparently this Kicking Mustang guy is really not well-liked in the airsoft community. Looks like he's been banned by a ton of fields too. Unrelated, is it IR-compliant? Designer aside, this looks half-decent.
He is disliked by snowflakes who don’t like getting shot in a game of getting shot and half of the sites that he’s banned from made up their reasons for banning him and a lot of them have shut down due to lack of customers, when it come to IR Mustang has stated multiple times that his older suits are IR retardant, don’t know if that is still the case with the 4.0 but I would imagine that it is

Ingredients to make your own:
1. Old M65 Field Jacket w/hood still attached
2. shoe goo, heavy gauge needle, O.D. nylon thread, penny shears
3. sniper veil(s) 1-woodland, 1-desert
4. 1" fish netting (about 50 sq ft)
5. 1-300 ft spool 550 cord w/guts intact
6. 2-4 Burlap (undyed) sacks
7. 1yard of either heavy duck canvas or 1000D Cordura
8. Krylon camo/ultra flat spray paint(s).
The reason you are going to use an M65 field jacket instead of a regular BDU or similar top is mainly for the hood that is attached in the collar of the jacket and the material used to make the field jacket is either a NYCO Twill or a Sateen Twill depending. And your gonna cut about 90% of the jacket away anyways. Remember youre making a Cobra hood NOT a 'regular' ghillie top. You just need the top half of the jacket and about 3/4 of the sleeves (length wise) so you can just throw it over the top of your currently wore kit and not have to thread your arms through sleeves. If made correctly, when donned, the shoulder section just simply cross over the top of your ruck and straps with the burlap and netting etc. to hang or set over or around your ruck.
Shooo, I apologize for that, just wanted to say another great video and never stop never stopping.

When I was across the pond some time ago, as a project to pass the time I put something similar together. Had an "unserviceable" OCP top and bottom that I used as a base. Cut the cargo pockets off the pants and sewwed them to the top's collar to fashion a hood, then added scrim using an old OD laundry bag and a couple worn out coyote tan t-shirts with a mix of paracord as a filler. Turned out pretty well.
Correct, done it almost word for word or full shirt and pants also. It just works. Has to mimic your environment. IMO most of us just want to get through the Shituation at hand and are NOT seeking warfare abroad.
What happened to you saying you would test it under NVG’s in the community post you made about this suit? Did you skip it because it glows and therefore wouldn’t look favorable?
Its a cobra hood video, not the full suit. I said I would do a part II with the full suit. How about you wait until part II covering a full head to toe suit, rather then jump to conclusions over a cobra hood that covers only the head, and shoulders.
@@Brent0331dang boyo. I asked a question. I didn’t jump to conclusions. Clean the sand outta your clam.
