Yeah, hisoka is strange for sure and while his focus does seem to be on Gon and Killua a lot, it is more to do with how insanely talented they are, and that talent to him just means they are buds that will grow into very strong people that he could fight and test himself against. Take zushi for example, he is talented as well and younger, but his talent is barely upper middle. It wouldn't interest Hisoka one bit. It is like when Hisoka mentioned the one he wanted to fight most during the hunter exam tournament was actually Netero, because to him that was even more enticing than those that could be strong in the future.
That being said, Hisoka is for sure a strange one haha.

HxH the best part is the character writing, their development and their potential. In most of the animes generally we see one or two characters, their developments and potential. But in HxH the writers do justice to each and every character by showing their potential and their development.

Hisoka is one of the best characters in all of anime. He's such a wild card that you can throw him into any scenario and he'll immediately make the plot more interesting.
Btw if neither of you read the manga, reading the manga is worth it for one simple reason. Hisoka. There's stuff that wasn't animated, may never be animated, that's worth picking it up even though it's unlikely to ever finish.
Hisoka and the p jokes are that. Some take it serious and like all memes people turn it into fact for people with lower comprehension of the story. It’s made obvious he’s not that and it’s more of a joke. He actually is nice for a change and respects warriors regardless of gender or age. He doesn’t see gon as a kid but as a respectable rival. He doesn’t wanna underestimate his potential.

@@Chrisonix in that arc again he was excited by their awakened potential and like the swing joke it was obviously a joke. People get too sensitive and cry about a dark joke and that’s fine. Still just him being played for a joke. Hisoka tried to date a woman in the group of age he also let her live when he didn’t need to and flirted with her hugging her. Etc. he literal explains that he is interested in potential. I don’t know what else to say. If you still think he’s that fine. Struckbybelz doesn’t think so and they have a kid and are sensitive to that subject as much as anyone else. They just took it for a joke. Not saying the joke is in good taste but hard to keep every joke not offensive to someone.

In the manga hisoka didn't actually ask Machi to go out to dinner with him but to spend the night with him. Hisoka is mostly uninterested in other people besides their strength and the possibility of having a good fight to the death. He hasn't a sexual interest in anyone (maybe in Machi but it's not that clear if it's a joke from his jester personality or actual interest) child or adult alike.
His climax comes from a potential individual who could give him the thrill of a death match.
Kastro was in the same position is gon now, he had the potential for becoming a worthy challenger and he was spared to grow up and when he had ripen he would pluck him, but kastro wasted his potential learning the doppelganger and hisoka lost his interest in him.
@@hxh-zz4fh Still with people like hisoka we gotta read between the lines and the author makes it obvious he has a sense of humor that will push some buttons. But hisoka isn't IMO supposed to be a P. He also hugged ___ later, even if in context it wasn't really as you state, clear if he likes people emotionally in a way, but whatever the case I didn't read the manga that the show covered so your better take than me. Anyway we can agree he's a complex character and people shouldn't boil him down to a few one off scenes and jump to the conclusion that he is P.

Rant: The hisoka stuff makes more sense if you read the canon one shot manga about his past. He was a kid with the same potential as gon. He knows a genius of fighting when he sees one. Think of it this way. There are 10 year olds more intelligent than 40 year old doctors. Another genius worth their salt won’t talk to them like their babies and respects their strength as equal rivals. People going on about dropping series or Rudy is the same just knee jerk reaction without context. Like you can have dark subject matter otherwise Al stories would be cookie cutter evil vs good. Its execution and Rudy rubbed them the wrong way at the time and they addressed it and how it took time to improve but that stuff at the time in context was a lot to swallow without any criticism. People act like if you criticize a series you will never like it and you should only finish shows that are perfect or near that each ep. One ep feels slow. Drop it. One ep isn’t hype. Drop. Season 2 invincible not as hype as 1. Drop entire series. So many shows to watch causing people to demand peak at cost of relaxing a bit lol. 😂

I think if y’all watch in English. She will have more of a reaction to a lot of the best parts of the show. I feel like it don’t hit the same when you have to read what they saying instead of hearing it. And the Voice actors are better to me
Hisoka is absolutely a groomer lol. Bro set gon on a path to become an absolute monster just so he can kill him when he gets older and reaches his peak (too bad HxH will prob never be finished hence the author literally telling us the ending incase he dies)
