      Awesome Anthony! That is indeed what this world needs: a young white man to seriously learn of Hajji Malik Shabazz. To grow up with the mind of Malik Shabazz, the courage of Malik and the commitment of Malik so strong that he TOTALLY rejects drugs and alcohol, cigarettes and fake religious teachers. Yes get that Book for that boy and soon he will get Al-Qur'aan for himself. AlHamdu lilaahi.

      @abdullah11120 Před 3 lety +12

      Asalaamualaykum, I pray you are well.
      One of my teachers who is close to Habib Umar (H) said they say the lowest miracle for the awliyah is reading the hearts and the highest miracle is istiqaama (steadfastness i guess but im not qualified to translate such a grand word haha).
      That being said, just spend time with the manifest people of Allah such as Dr. Umar Faruq (H) and Habib Umar (H) and their likes, perhaps Allah will disclose some of these miracles to you, either allowing you to witness them or have them bestowed upon you. Many of the lesser saints even have these sort of experiences I read, and have seen for myself. But my Shaykh's Shaykh said miracles are like toys for the people on the Path to Allah; distractions. My Shaykh taught us we are created for ubudiyyah (servanthood), we were not built for the unseen. But Allah does as He wills, and if it's given to you, may it be received in the way pleasing to Allah and His Nabi Syedna Muhammad (S).
      I once conveyed a message to my Shaykh regarding a special event that someone close to me experienced and had asked me to convey to my Shaykh, of which you can say my Shaykh's part was miraculous. My Shaykh looked like a shy kid and seemed so constricted. He went from smiling and joking to full seriousness and shyness at my mention of this event. I was alone with him and my friend, we both being young and my Shaykh a scholar. All my Shaykh said if Allah grants us something which brings up nearer to Him, may He increase it. If it drives us away from Him, may He remove it. And he said nothing else about it.
      Dr. Umar Faruq said in another lecture that the awliya are more embarrassed about their karamaat then a women would be walking out with blood on her clothes (indicating that time of the month, imagine how embarrassed a women would be). Ajeeb. I've witnessed this humility amongst them.
      Ask any of the people who spend time with the people of Allah with a chain of transmission going back to Rasulullah (S) connecting them to him (S), these occurrences are very very real and do still exist. But to me, their state with Allah makes them walking miracles because of how other worldly they are. Look at the righteous who die from a verse of Quran out of fear. What is that?? How?? I can't fathom the state they were in. Or the righteous who die out of love! Love! Not fear! Allah Allah.
      Forgive the long message, I pray the little I wrote benefits me and anyone else who reads it.

    I respect Umar Faruq Abd-Allah but before defending Sufism it should be made clear that many heterodox beliefs come about through sufism. The establishment of saints and their veneration, sometimes even through icons, the fact that Sufism is a precursor to Shi'ism, the use of musical instruments, chanting and dancing in veneration to pious people, and the in general mystical belief that some of the unseen can be indirectly witnessed through blessings and miracles that happen very commonly in Sufi ideology. I am impressed by the style of dawah give by Dr Umar and Hamza Yusuf but they should both understand that Sufism isn't the orthodox aqeedah.

    • @UmairKhan-ry8jg
      @UmairKhan-ry8jg Před 3 lety +1

      @Orient Express I understand and am not a supporter of the so called salafis who are more focused on mocking of others that don't submit to their ideology and aqeedah which they sell as pure orthodoxy. Their behaviour is borderline takfiri and their obsession with becoming like the salaf instead of pursuing to become like the Prophet ﷺ has always seemed strange to me.
      As can be established with the saying of the seal of the Prophets ﷺ: “My ummah will divide into 73 sects, all of them will be in the Fire except for one, and that is the Jamā’ah.” It was said, “And who are they, O Allah’s Messenger?” He ﷺ responded, “That which I and my Companions are upon today."
      (Jami At-Tirmhidhi 2641)
      This saying is clear in stating the saved sect will be the true Ahlul Sunnah, the people that follow the Qur'an and the teachings of the Chosen One ﷺ as he preached them and how his disciples received and implemented them. To do this one must be freed from the chains of sectism and instead of owing allegiance to only the teachings and ideology of a specific sect should owe their allegiance to Allah and his Messenger ﷺ by looking at the teachings of Muhammad ﷺ and the commandments of Allah, even if this means colluding the ideology of multiple sects, this is a price worth paying to truly adhere to the sunnah.
      As for the actions I mentioned that you believe Sunni muslims do not have a problem with, any reading into the Qur'an will clearly show that sainthood and the belief that others can intercede for you on the day of judgement is wrong and that the veneration of such pious people, especially through the use of pictures, as some Sufis and Shias do, is blatant shirk.
      There are numerous hadith which state that one of the signs of the hour is that muslims will make musical instruments permissible for themselves, this implies that they were forbidden before.
      Nowhere in the sunnah will you find the practice of chanting praise of Allah and dancing or jumping, this is unique to Sufism and is a cultural practice.
      Edit: I am aware of Shaykh Hamza's standpoint in Sufism. You do not have to be a Sufi to have the correct etiquette for dawah, nor do you need to be a Sufi to be polite, this is clearly demonstrated by Hamza Yusuf who isn't a Sufi yet has the correct temperament and etiquette for dawah. Being polite isn't only limited to Sufism, neither is one influenced by Sufi doctrine if he is soft spoken.
