- Following the release of the OG "White / Blue" colourway, Nike released this special edition colourway on Air Max Day, 3.26, inspired by a similar release from a decade ago. Slapping on volt hits on the midsole and tongue, these also have 3.26 branding on the tongue - ensuring they stand out on the streets. Perfect timing Sean…I missed out on these and was looking for a good review. To make my decision. You came through just like most other times when I am seriously looking to make a decision on a sneaker. Great review as always, I must say these are a cop now.
Also, you might wanna do a review on the New Balance M1906RRB. Really like my pair.
I absolutely love the Volt hit on these. I think it seems to work a little better with royal blue instead of red. Really appreciate them both though. Thanks for the review!
Hey Sean, I’m from the UK, the pair I received was close to flawless- no issues with paint, loose threads or mangled creasing. Maybe we got lucky. Great shoe, the volt midsole along with the 3:26 branding on tongue just makes this shoe feel that much more special. Great review as always sir, always appreciated the honesty from your side.

My volt came in perfect but my aj4 industrial blues had a stretch on the leather not to noticeable but i debating keeping them

QC in my 8.5us is fine thankfully
Gave a pass on the Dn's and got these instead with the white midsole💙🤍Didn't have any issues with uneven wrinkles on L/R sneaker.. the Nike Field General 82's though terribly wrinkles like a piece of paper and I usually don't mind wrinkles or creasing but that one is quite bad.
I think the volt midsole works better with the Royal blue imo . The reds OG with the volt were not exactly easy to get at least in the uk . Instore only smaller sizes were sitting from what I can recall . Glad I copped these because I was unsuccessful with the reds back then .
Sorry about the QC on your pair. Now I don't feel too bad about passing on these. Still a dope shoe imo.
Didn't pick up this pair as the volt midsole wasn't for me, but I did get the GR white/royal pair directly from SNKRS and I have the exact same issue with wrinkling on the right shoe's toebox. Pretty disappointing, but over time the shoe was bound to crease anyway so I'll be rocking them as-is.

Great detailed review as always Sean 👏🏾. However I think your description of “mangled, ugly, gross toe box” was a little over the top and had me laughing out loud! 🤣 On my pair the left shoe was slightly creased which was annoying. I stuffed them and they’ll be fine. I love the colourway and prefer it to my OG red volt pair.

That is crazy because my GR Royal Big Bubble also had a crazy crease on right shoe! I thought mine was a one off LOL

I received mine today, mine were fine. No creasing, paint job was fine. No thread issues neither.

I’m with you Sean, I much prefer the 87 silhouette over the big bubbles but Nike is stuck on this concept
My right toe box was kind of creased but nowhere near that bad. Everything else was fine. Mine are going to be everyday kicks anyway so it was going to take A LOT for me to not keep them. 😂

I got these and although mine weren't creased, the shape just felt extremely sloppy overall. This, combined with the sad materials caused me to oop them to someone else. I still think the colorway is fantastic though.

My pair of Royal Blues were so botched that I returned them within an hour. Shameful and intolerable of Nike to sell this type of product. Quality control leaves more and more to be desired🤬

Which was worse? The QC on the 2021 AM90 Bacon? Or these?
I’d say these. My bacons had some blue markings but at least they could be rubbed off. These seem like a structural build issue

Yeah the quality control is definitely declining. I didn’t get these but my Craft Ivory 3s were terrible out of the box. They looked like they had been run over multiple times by a bulldozer with chain tires.

These look sick but the terrible QC seems par for the course on a lot of major nike releases.
The toebox of my right shoe was wrinkled as well.. It made the whole experience of opening this "special" pair extremely disappointing..

Mine was exactly the same, left shoe was made by someone who knew that they were doing, right by a newbie who has never been shown what to do! So bad I just returned...terrible release from Nike..
