More live means less compression and more Dynamic. So the amplitude diffrences between Single frequencies can differ greatly. Modern speakers compress alot because it helps getting nice specs like 29-20khz for a standbox that is to small for something with that specs and driver Selection. Its one part of how speaker Sound. So if someone says live = great that means he doesnt really know what hes talking about.

did write the comment on my smartphone and thought i expand a bit on it. A bigger dynamic = better sound. So that is correct. Its just that besides Dynamic there are alot of other factors that come into play for a speaker like phase alignement, inductivity, soundstage, dispersion characteristics, efficiency, resolution, frequency range that it works in until you gotta x-over to another driver, volume the driver plays in, ported or not, how much power the speaker can take, crossover design, etc pp
so a good speaker is good at all of these and the tippity top of speakers are pretty good at all of these with a few of those where they are extremly good in. So its always a case by case thing what u need the speaker for and also what u enjoy the most. But personal preference only goes so far, thats why we have speakers where people can clearly identify "that one is better" because overall quality comes first and then the personal taste kicks in between speakers that are comparable and one just has more dynamic or resolution or whatever and either thats what u enjoy the most or not. But a speaker that is terrible at resolution sounds bad, even to people who say they dont care about resolution. You cant have terrible performance in any stat.

Yeah Michael, I agree with you on the 3 way vs 2 way design. Almost always, if the speakers are of equal quality, the 3 ways will always sound better to me. When you had to adjust the speaker levels that brought me back to my time as a Klipsch rep in the Hickam AFB BX. We had a fairly nice setup where we could switch between speakers and adjust levels between them so we could do A/B comparisons on the fly. Even though we were selling the budget Tangent series, they still were far more efficient than the Bose and even JBL competitors. I do not even remember whatever else was being sold. I did not work for the BX, I was a contractor for the suppliers and repped only the Klipsch. Now the Navy exchange had Klipsch heritage(although they were not called that yet) and I was really jealous of the rep there. Even though the 2 way Tangents were a good series of speakers, they could not hold a candle to the Klipschorns, Cornwall IIs, La Scalas, Belle(remember those) and Heresys being sold there. All 3 ways.

When I introduced her to better sound with headphones, speakers, amps, dacs, and so on, the one thing she was most amazed about was going from Spotify to Flac files, Qobuz, DSD and such. Two listening rooms were very busy with Martin Logan's Qobuz playist and even some youTube channel owners were there shooting video and doing interviews ! What a day, and what a fine sound the F2's created with a low end no one could believe!
The flagships were there, and later in the day were put into action. Lots of fun, food and music. Getting ready to finally schedule some time with the Neoliths on display. 🙂

Midrange (or lack of it) is definitely something I noticed when I went from the 2 way Klipsch RF7i's to the 2.5 way JBL HDI 3800's. The JBL's just came alive in the midrange - guitars, percussion, and vocals particularly. Highs are crisp and clear but not bright; I'd say slightly forward. The RF7's are still the undisputed bass monsters though, no sub needed lol. And the Klipsch Heritage line is a whole different animal.

You make a really good point about forgetting how something sounded and also how difficult an A/B comparison can be even when you only have a few seconds to pull banana plugs. I find a better test is much longer listening periods, oftentimes a brighter speaker sounds better next to a less lively one but listen to music for a few hours and your opinion may really change. Currently I have the RF-7's in my livingroom, I really like them but i feel I've maybe also just gotten use to the brighter Klipsch sound. Prior to them I had a nice set of JBL's which are in my basement now, the JBL's weren't quite as efficient and lacked the punch and bottom end of the Klipsch but had a bit more warmth in the midrange. As much as we love listening to music in our home, my wife and I spent a lot of time attending live music performances, oftentimes acoustic shows in friends livingrooms or small venues with excellent sound systems. No matter how great your speakers and amps nothing can really compare to the raw sound of un-amplified individual instruments only feet away. I'm a music photographer and oftentimes I'm on stage 10' away from a horn section of a jazz ensemble... still haven't heard any stereo reproduce that kind of energy, and a live drum kit before it goes through the PA... forget about it :)

Yeah memory for audio is very short term. You can carry some subjective information with you but overall doing A-B comparisons is very hard. Personal biases come into play quite a lot as well, we hear what our brain tells us we hear, to quite a large extent. Kudos for realizing that after 50 Klipsch speakers you may be habituated to the Klipsch "house sound" as well and have built up a preference.

I bought last version motion 60xti’s unheard due to the pricing. I upgraded from the klipsch rf7ii. I loved the klipsch, but they were a little harsh on my ears. I agree the motion speakers are clearer and more refined. HOWEVER, I have a large open living room and the klipsch blew the ML out of the water when it came to dynamics and being able to fill the room. It honestly was not even close. They simply get louder, easier, and faster. And I am using a parasound amp.
So for home theatre (in larger spaces), I would recommend the klipsch as you don’t notice the fine details with multi channel speakers. For music, I would go for the ML.

I thought that I would bring to your attention something I had happened to me with my pair of RF-7III speakers. The reason I bring this up was due to the reporting of the weakness in the midrange clarity compared to the Martin Logan speakers.
My original pair had some mfg. defects on the cabinets that I blew off but later decided to contact Klipsch. Klipsch felt the speakers were not up to their standards, so they replaced my pair.
I didn't feel there was anything wrong with the sound of my previous set, just cosmetic flaws.
The new pair, when installed, sounded completely different than my original pair.
    There we're 3 significant changes:
    1. Top end air and extension
    2. Base output and dynamic range.
    3. Midrange clarity The speaker's top woofer now had a very clear presence.
I found that although it's technically a 2-way crossover, it functions as a 2.5 crossover.
The GR Research review performed more like my old set you needed to sit almost to the top of the bottom woofer to get midrange clarity and presence.
Again I'm just surprised that you heard what I heard.
I went as far and contacted the Klipsch factory in Arkansas to see if any changes had been made. I actually talked with the supervisor who orders all the parts. I was told no component changes had been made.

What do you mean a burned Klipsch for a new pair? The RF7 III are still phenomenal speakers. The F200’s have better midrange due to being a 3-way design and having a dedicated midrange driver.

Youthman, I love everything that you do. I admire your dedication and your kindness always shines through.
I’m saying this with the most love and respect I can because I don’t want to offend you…
Please fix your hair, my brother. It looks like a helmet. Have whoever does your hair fade it up on the sides. I’m 44 and receding already, but fades make all the difference. If you or your wife do your hair, it’s easy to learn how to fade, I promise! Fading will help you with the straight hairline. You don’t want it to be the Dumb and Dumber Jim Carey haircut our Mom’s would want to try to give my brother and I in the early 80’s. Ha!!
Everyone LOVES you, but I’m trying to help you. You can even delete my post after you read it. I wouldn’t be offended at all. I don’t even want anyone else to think I’m putting you down.
I’ll say it again and smiling as I’m typing it. Love ya, don’t get offended. You will thank me later! You’ll know because people will start saying that your hair looks good because they didn’t want to say it looked bad before. It’s like you’re always wearing a hat, but respectfully take off the hat because you’re indoors or on camera, but didn’t have time to style it. I’m not saying you need a hard part or anything, but a fade and slight brush to one side or even messing it up so it doesn’t look like it’s straight forward and straight across.
Keep making the videos. You will always have a viewer in me. If you’re ever near Maryland, I’d love to see you home theater guys. 💛

Hi Youthman. Can you answer me honestly to some question?
You are interested in cinema speakers! Then there are many speakers that work well even if they don't have the best sound quality!
Too many times on different youtube channels, they have been proven how bad KLIPSCH speakers are!
This has also been proven many times with microphone measurements!
Measuring result on the speaker itself, the element does not measure very well either.
A youtube channel in particular receives MANY klipsch speakers from customers who are not satisfied with the sound quality! After a microphone measurement and a look at the speaker crossover, I understand why so many people don't like Klipsch!
    Klipsch makes ofte
mk2, mk3. of speakers. the reason is that they ofte make bigger mistakes that they correct!
    My question is the following.
    1. How often do you listen to proper sound quality speakers in a stereo setup?
    2. Do you have any experience with how proper sound quality should sound and how the speaker crossover filter should and should not be made?
