As a 61 year old Englishman (from Peckham in S.E.London) Brian comes accross as a top top man...he was and still is a SERIOUSLY talented musician and a really lovely man...DONATING those keyboards to local music schools, the great music he produced with Julie Driscoll and the trinity(check out "season of the witch" live with Julie and the band) and then with Orbital Express...GREAT music,he asked Brian "what religion are you?" Brian's great answer "my religion is being kind to people" says it all! ,thanks, all the best, peace love and happiness to you all, from Piers a.k.a. Chopper.

In 2000 I had a studio in Los Angeles and our drummer said he was at the Baked Potato the night before and saw Brian play and it occurred to him that Brian would be great on the tune we were working on. So we called him and offered him $200 for one song. He said yes! We went to his place and loaded his silver sparkle B3 into his trailer and off to the studio we went. He was great, very gracious and played just what we had in our heads. He said he thought it was quite a catchy little tune. Thanks Brian!

This man was a very respected musician in London in the 60’s and ‘70’s and beyond. His band, The Trinity, performed in all the best clubs and he had many superb vocalists join him. He is most famous for partnering with a singer, Julie Driscoll, and they had a hit record with “Wheels on Fire”. I photographed Julie some years later, living in a small council flat in Notting Hill, London, the glory days long gone.

The first time I saw Brian was on a TV special the Monkees aired in the late 60s. It was called 33 & 1/3. His playing was just phenomenal, and Julie Driscoll was the most fantastic looking female I’d ever seen……of course I was around 13 at the time. If you haven’t seen this show, it’s here on CZcams, you got to check it out. It is rather campy compared to today’s standards, so don’t be too perfectionist if! After all, it was the 60s!!! I was amazed by a lot by watching this video, but watching his humility was most impressive. Thank you for sharing this great musician's career!!

Ol' head here - back in the day I had a boyfriend who always played Brian Auger's Oblivion Express when he did 'shrooms. I never realized he wrote The Main Ingredients 'Just Around the Bend'. Lyrics were definitely trippy. I really appreciate this interview, reminds me of life's soundtracks.❤

At the last bit hearing his vocalizations of the beat was so special. This is a man who does the thing so well it's almost unspeakable.

Musically Brian, you are right on and I have always loved what you do !! With the other, you are light years away. But you don't have to be. It is all right there waiting for you.

What a fantastic interview this is. How can you not appreciate and love this man for his character alone, beyond his musical abilities? Truly inspirational.

I met Brian Auger about six years ago at the Bake Potato potato in Los Angeles! His son was on drums, and they were fantastic. Mr. Auger was my childhood hero(along with Keith Emerson), he was as nice and personable as you see him here and I got to hang out and talk shit. Great time great and great concert!

The legend himself …. Fantastic to see a recent interview with Brian. He is one of the greats that so inspired me as a musician. I actually met Brian at the Lonestar Roadhouse in NYC around 1983 or there abouts . Went to see him and as it ended up this new hot guitarist that was about to get huge in a few months was opening for him. Stevie Vaughan and Double Trouble. It’s before he was using Ray in his name. I had no idea who Stevie was at that point but, he had just finished doing studio work with David Bowie at that point as I would find out later the rest is history but, to get back to Brian. I was at the bar having a drink with my friend when he pointed over my shoulder and said here comes Brian Auger. I was such a massive fan of his that I spun around to greet him and was so excited to see him that I reached out and slapped him on the arm like you would do with a dear friend. My heart sank when he gave me this look like “ do that again and I’ll knock your teeth out” I felt so bad about it because I wanted to tell him how much he meant to me and how he inspired me. The show was absolutely amazing and as usual his playing was blistering, melodic and full with such emotional intensity. During the show he looked over at me a few times and he could see how much I was enjoying the performance. He finally smiled and nodded at me as if to say everything was cool.
Thanks again for this interview it was excellent.
Brian still sharp as a tack 😎🍻🍻🙏
