Overview... Showers and thunderstorms are likely across the Northern Plains and Southeast U.S. at times this weekend. Severe weather will be possible the entire weekend. Excessive heat builds across the South-Central U.S. this weekend into early next week. This heat wave will fuel more BIG storms and potentially a substantial severe weather outbreak for the middle of the country early next week (Monday & Tuesday).
