This was so helpful! I'm running my first marathon in nyc in a couple weeks and this got me so much more excited!
Thank you so much for taking the time to make these videos! They're so great.
Excellent head-ons! Thank you!
Thank you! Very helpful! So excited for my first NYC marathon!
Meeeee toooooo
Great info Eric. Looking forward to it this year 👍🏻
I just got chills when I watched this.. I ran it for the first time last year and am running it this year with my daughter...Can't wait to do it again..
Thanks for this!! My first! Can’t wait
Thanks for your videos! I'm running my first NYC marathon this year and they have been so helpful!!!!
Spot on, great advice!
Thank you for this video very helpful 💯🤙🫡
Thanks for the great videos. Hopefully will be doing NYC either this Fall or next Fall. I have a quick question about the start - is there a way to choose whether you run on the top deck or the lower deck of the bridge at the start? Thanks in advance.
Thanks for the tips!
Omg I'm nervous just thinking about it. This is my first marathon period. I"m don't live in NYC .Any suggestions what area to stay in? Is it easier overall to stay by the ferry area or the finish line or somewhere in between/ centrally located?
Thank you for these videos!! This will be my first NYC Marathon! My goal is a sub 4:00
Hi, and thank you very much for your precious hacks.Even though I signed up with italian operator, and I will receive informations from them, I would like to know about the best option for THAT morning breakfast. When and where to have a good breakfast. Second question: I saw in the start Villages, areas with food and beverage. But (sorry for question) do I have to pay to eat/drink something?Thank you!!!
thank you!
Awesome videos. Made me even more excited for the race. I put my finishing time, when "applying" for 3:00, but will likely finish a little faster. It looks like I will be in first wave, so release will be at 8am?? The only options for the Ferry that are listed for me are 5:30am and 5:45am. Any thoughts on that?
Seems that you'll be in the first wave. Congrats!
Thanks. I just haven't seen any information my wave in my NYRR account. So, it is strange that they ask for you to pick transportation (with time) when you don't know when your start time. Maybe they only give you options they believe will support your wave, but don't actually release the wave information until later?
@@chrismitchell4966 Yeah, I know it seems backwards but you won't know until October which wave you're in.
@@Dirtyoldsneakershi🙂 can i bring my drink (in can) in coral ?
You should be able to, I don’t see why not.
Eric, what is better, I'm coming from out of country, stay at a hotel near the start or finish area. Thanks
By the finish. Definitely.
@@Dirtyoldsneakers Thank You
Hi Eric! I know this video is 5 years old but still helpful! My girlfriend was given Blue wave 3 and I was given Pink wave 3. She has a higher bib number so I should be able to run in her wave correct?
That is correct!
Hi Eric,
Great video. Is there anyway to change your wave, corral, number by contacting NYRR? I hate to be annoying, but I was out with the 4:30’s and my realistic goal is 3:45. If not, any tips on how deal with this at the start? Thanks!
Thanks Spencer. I'm not sure if you will be able to change, but I do know that if they do, it's really rare. That said, you can try to go to Runner Services when you pick up your bib at the Expo. But I wouldn't expect much. Question, how do you know you were with 4:30s? My predicted finish is the same as yours and I'm in Wave 2 Blue corrals.
DirtyOldSneakers I was using the chart from last year. Green Corral B Wave 3. Is there an updated chart?
I don't see projected times on the chart . . . www.tcsnycmarathon.org/sites/default/files/TCSNYCM18%20Start%20Times.pdf
DirtyOldSneakers I was using this chart from last year.. may not be accurate? www.tcsnycmarathon.org/sites/default/files/NYCM17%20PaceChartWeb%20Rd4.pdf
Can you please do a video on stuff to carry with you to the start line? I understand it varies based on personal preferences but what is absolute minimum? Also, at what point do you check bags, after you go through the security?
Working on it now, will have it posted before the end of the week. Thanks for the idea!
