  • Riding on Narendra Modi’s space ambitions and the government’s $1.5 billion space budget, India has opened the doors for its space startups to attempt their first orbital launch later this year. That impending milestone may serve the prime minister at the voting booth, but do the country's private space players have a real shot at catching up to the likes of SpaceX? Menaka Doshi speaks with Skyroot Aerospace to find out.

    Spacex was indeed good, they pushes the technology forward for lowering the cost per launch :-
    1) Reusable Rockets
    2) methane as fuel to reduce cost.
    Well Spacex received appreciation from NASA for it's effort and now NASA's supplies are transported to ISS through Spacex rockets.
    If India needs a Spacex,
    It should focus on what the space sector is lacking these days. It could be further lowering it's cost or a breakthrough!.

    "The Indian Space Research Organization is planning to send astronauts to space before the year 2015-16, deputy project director of ISRO's Chandrayaan Mission Jaswinder Singh Khoral said in Chandigarh on Thursday. (Times of India)." This is the statement made by India in year 2010. This reminds of this meme "India superpower by 2020". Today is 2024, 14 years after the statement was made, and India has not sent a single astronaut to space using indigenous technology. Maitreya Bhakal (|ndian): If you want something said, ask India. If you want something done, ask China.🤭

    SpaceX does a lot of things for NASA via outsourcing at significant cost savings to NASA. That is one line of business for SpaceX. SpaceX has also launched the StarLink service i.e satellite internet.
    ISRO is already doing a lot of things, satellite related at significantly cheaper costs to their Western counterparts, especially NASA. Is there a need for private players to grow the space marketspace in India ? I would liken this to BCCI not supporting the Kapil Dev supported T20 league prior to them launching the IPL. It is about territory. It doesn't look like ISRO needs help unless you are an ancillary company/vendor supporting ISRO in their processes and components for their satellite and space missions.

    • @TheDizzyness
      @TheDizzyness Před 4 dny

      Sorry, but above comment makes it clear that you understand very little about space technology and space business in general.More importantly the analogy you made about BCCI and ICL is totally flawed and bogus in this case because it's ISRO that has handheld these space startups in launch and satellite technology through an entity called INSPACe. Moreover it is beneficial for ISRO to outsource these small satellite launches to these startups as they can do it cheaper saving GOI money and make more resources and manpower available to ISRO for more core space science missions which currently they cannot undertake because they also have to do these commercial satellite launches.

    You guys really don't understand the India's game.. india can do and achieve anything and everything it needs because Indian youths aren't resting n chilling throughout their life. They don't get enough time to just attend some Taylor Swift 's shows or make some tik tok or do stuffs to entertain people or stuffs to entertain itself.. I mean of course there are people who also do that but majority of youth here is doing anything and everything, there's not passion for country or such but also because they think doing such jobs can make him lead a better life. The basic requirements and necessity of these youths make them do the impossible.. while the American n European youths who already have these basic things , they just need something to grow their bellies and add some more inches to their bellies that's it..!
