When it comes to budget bikes you really have 2 main options for brakes, v-brakes or side pull brakes. In this video we go through how to adjust side pull brakes and get them centered on the wheel, proper cable tension, and getting your pads centered on the braking surface.

Great video.. Any idea if the front nut and cap have any adjustments for centering? I know if I tighten them down too much the brake will not move but that's all I have figured out

You can also fine-tune how close the pads are to the wheel with the hollow bolt on the other arm of the side-brake, right?

These can be a pain, I have some old school dia-compe that give me trouble and are giving me trouble right now. The cool thing about them though is that they are lighter than my shimano dual pivot brake.

every time i try to adjust the brakes one side just sticks again. i can center them but once i pull the brake lever they un-center and one side sticks.

How the hell do you removed the wheel with this type of brake without letting air out of tire..

You do exactly that, you let air out of your tire 🤣 Yeah they can be a pain sometimes, you can loosen the brake up some so the tire will squeeze by, you can try and force it through, or just let some air out.
